Interpretations on "part of Me" PV
Ok, this is another PV from ayu that finally has things that can be interpretted and isn't as random as Moments was.
The PV has a very strong connection to the lyrics. Basically, the PV talks about the feeding chain, and how materia is recycled from one being into another. If you look at it, the mantis has a part of the butterfly, and the snake now has a part of the mantis AND the butterfly. ayu dies, her body decays, and it become into roots (the hair) which will grow into the plants with flowers. Yeajh, the feeding chain. So what does it have to do with the lyrics? In the lyrics she mentions her feelings are so connected to her lover's that she actually thinks they had to have been part of the same being into another life. She feels part of her has to belong to her lover because their feelings are so mutual, they're almost like one person, one love. It also shows, how much she depends on the love of her lover to feel complete, as if she's feeding on his love, the same way the mantis had to feed on the butterfly in order to survive. Oh well, there's much to it like all those other people but I'm too lazy to strain my brain for that now, so let's just read more opinions! The lyrics translation by masa can be found here: http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55908 |
i believe this pv and the lyric are talking about "SOULMATE"
you're part of me, and i'm part of you... |
Wow, it's Ming Dao/183Club guy. D:
This PV has that momentum-y feeling of her "being" there but not really. Like, when they're sort of "praying" and she's kind of just dying next to the tree.. |

Yeah, a very unique way to express what she feels in the song.

Maybe, those people, were there to umm, see the death of ayumi or something? What do the people symbolize? I also think the white-ish Ayu is the dead one...and she's reflecting?
Oh I'm just lost |

I like to this of it like this:
She's alone at the tree waiting for someone for a very long time.. her life is almost over and she knows it, but she keeps holding out and waiting for the person to arrive. Eventually, she accepts death and lets herself go. In the other side, she is reunited with the person she was waiting for; he already died and she didn't know.. As she accepted death as a part of life, she freed herself from the despair... Another concept in the PV is that life leads to more life. The mantis could live because the butterfly died, and then the snake could live because the mantis died. The flowers blossomed because Ayumi died... It might be wrong, but I remember hearing one time that in Bhuddism, everything is reincarnated... This goes along with the theme of the lyrics; having loved someone in a past life... |
