2004 - artist of the year - Ayumi Hamasaki
2004 - rock album of the year - A BALLADS
2004 - rock album of the year - & ?? (album?!)
2004 - rock album of the year - Memorial address
2004 - music video of the year - Live Box
2005 - song of the year - Moments
2005 - song of the year - INSPIRE
2005 - rock&pop album of the year - MY STORY
2005 - music video of the year - A MUSEUM

Is A even a song? and they really do probably mean }{. but is }{ a song?

2004 - rock album of the year - A BALLADS
2004 - rock album of the year - & ?? (album?!)
2004 - rock album of the year - Memorial address
A BALLADS is not a rock album definitely. and why are there 3 best rock albums in 2004?

2004 - music video of the year - Live Box
What the hell is Live Box?

2005 - music video of the year - A MUSEUM

I think it's just mistranslated? Who knows...

I think the Ayumi not accepting awards definitely took a hit into her sales...An artist that doesn't get recognition anymore is not known to new people. Though she still gets awards, they're not those awards...sadly. Why ayumi...why...

What is the western equivalence of this award ceremony

Actually, I think they honoured every single best selling album for every music genre. The same goes to the other category too (Single of the year etc):D

The 13th GD awards was the 1st GD awards for Ayu.

I think they mean her COMPLETE LIVE BOX that contained Countdown Live 2001-2002; Arena Tour 2002; Stadium Tour 2002; and Countdown Live 2002-2003.

Gold disk awards give out awards to the top 10 albums of the year, thats how she wins multiple awards for the same category.
Could someone please explain this incident?
On wiki it says that Max got into an arguement with some guy in AVEX, and Ayu sided with Max, so this guy had to leave. Or something to that effect.
But that doesn't explain why she doesn't accept awards anymore....

Since The Japan Gold Disc Awards honours the best seling artists, best selling singles and albums, other records such as DVD and based on the perfomance on Oricon, you can say this is the Japanese version of Billboard Music Awards, which also honours most popular and best selling artists, single and album and it also based on the performance on Billboard Charts.:D
