Memorial address take 1?
Hi, I just recently noticed that the memorial address track is always refered to as the "take 2 version" whenever I look up tracklists for albums. Wouldn't that mean there is a "first" version of the song somewhere?
|
It was a live studio recording. Take 1 probably had a mistake somewhere or Ayu/musician's didn't like how it sounded, so they re-did it (take 2) and that's what we got (I'm guessing)
If that's the case then I'm guessing the first take was just scrapped there and then. |
We should have a section for any and all Ayu questions that have been asked like 10+ times here in Enquiries..
Supposedly, people say that studio live explanation is why.. and some people think that Kumo [the song that Memorial address' composition came from by LOVERS SOUNDTRACK, a band that had Tetsuya Yukumi] was technically "take 1" and "take 2" is Ayu's "take" on it.. But.. eh. I dunno. LOL |
^Deli had one of those once...it was awesome...I'm gonna find it...
|
I seem to remember that Deli said something like "take 2" being the name of the original band behind the song?
Bad memory. |
I'm going to include Deli's post with a new FAQ thread for this forum so that we don't have to see the same questions over and over again.
|
Eep! I'm sorry this question came up before, but I tried searching for it before posting and nothing came up...

But that's for A Song for XX not for Memorial address :/
Maybe it's called "Take 2" because the instrumental track is so different than the original... Kumo |

I think its the studio live, it seems the most plausible ~~
|
My version of "take 1" has some voices in the beginning...sounds like background noise from the recording studio. The song doesn't start 'til about 10 seconds in, because they seem to have recorded the background conversations in the track? However, when I listened to "take 2" I noticed the song starts right away with no people talking in the bg. Maybe that's the reason.
|
namiie, "take 2" is the track on the Memorial address album. "take 1" does not exist. It is most likely possible that someone just cut the talking out and called it take 1.
And "take 2" has the talking in it, and was previously the only version available until A BEST 2 -BLACK- had it as a bonus track without the conversation in the beginning.. |
^what he said. there is no take 1, only original take 2 and edited-for-A-Best-Take 2

Thanks for your replies, I'll go to bed a little less stupid tonight :yes |
I guess you could think of it like how "Key ~eternal tie ver.~" is the "only version."
It's a wonder that many people don't ask about that one, and they ask about "take 2".. lol |
I believe Key isn't a cover like Ma is?
I believe the "take 2" is more intriguing, since it makes it sound like there's a number 1. |
Yes, but Key has that whole "~_______ ver." thing going on for it, so a few people ask if the "original Key" exists anywhere, when the original is ~eternal tie~.. :O
|
who knows? it's a good idea though
