[NEWS] Eason Chan critcises Ayu of Lip-synching

NOTE: Different media reports used different adjectives to describe what Eason said. The one published in the version I read said Eason 'criticised' Ayu. Judge for yourself.

Chinese news: (this is a summary)

Ayu lip-synched?? Eason slept till he snored.

A lot of big Hong Kong stars attended Ayumi's Hong Kong Asia tour stop last Saturday. However, one of them, Eason Chan, accused that Ayumi, the queen of Jpop, of lip-synching for almost 1/3 of the entire concert.

"The stage design and set-up is good, but she lip-synched for 1/3 of the concert. If we do that in HK, we will definitely get scolded," Eason said. He was quick to add that lipsynching is not a big problem.

Because of his busy schedule, he also fell asleep at the start of the concert, prompting his friend to jab him~ so that it won't look ugly to have someone sleeping in the front row.

The organiser of the concert insisted, "Ayumi did not lip-synch AT ALL. The sound system is specially flown in from Japan, so it might have been so fantastic that Eason got the wrong idea."

All of these sources are complains from FANS. And all of them are saying EASON is too MEAN to AYU and waiting for eason to say sorry to AYU.

he says that he knows that japanese concerts, esp ayu, have a huge production value to it and that he wouldn't waste an opportunity to watch it. but because he didn't sleep for a couple nights, he wasn't in the mood to watch the concert, which is why he dozed off during some parts of the concert. he adds that it wasn't her fault, but instead it was his own fault.

Basically they are telling everyone not to think that they lip-sync, as they are not like those foreigners as they are made of the real stuff. :grumpy

And according to their experience, it's kinda impossible not to be gasping for air when u're dancing so much.

My own thoughts:
I was there at the concert myself, and like many Ayu fans here, have watched countless LIVE performances, and spinned her RECORDED versions a hundred times - its really easy to tell when Ayu is using her live singing voice - and she was. However, her voice was really in a superb condition (though she struggled a lot on 'Secret') - and that might have led to confusions. Even I was shocked at her live singing quality.

Also, the video feed from the big screen seemed to lag at several short moments, so if Eason was watching the screen instead of Ayu herself, he might have mistook the situation too.

I also find it quite funny that he dared to say it so proudly because I can easily count with my fingers the number of famous HK stars that lip-synch on a regular basis. *roll eyes*

IMO Ayu definitely did not lip-synch at all. She was good, but not CD-quality good.

if you listen to her taiwan-concert, and the pieces of HK-concert; you'll know that she is absolutely 100% NOT-lipsyncing...... it's not even a guess or an assumption.. it's just so obvious this time

The lip-sync part could be just his own opinions, but i felt that the slping part is plain rude. Although u aren't an Ayu fan it's just plain rude to slp during concert. Even if u slp during the concert why told something like that to the media? Is it even necessary to let the whole world knows abt it? It ain't anything nice and he could actually say it so freely to the media.

eason chan is pathetic. he is ugly, and he can't sing.

He's just jealous at her beautiful voice!!!

For 1/3 of the songs? oO That sounds way too exaggerated. She rarely lipsynchs in Japan, why would she do it in her super rare Asia Tour? I might have believed a little if it's one or two songs but please, 1/3 of the songs is too absurb to believe.

And yes, it's rude the part about sleeping. He got front row seats, know how many fans would die for that? And he spoke so blantly about falling asleep in the live. Want to watch the concert and yet want to criticize. Duh.

Might as well give up his seat for someone else who will appreciate the live better.

I wonder how he can be so sure that ayu has so-called lip sync when he's asleep almost throughout the performance? I mean for one who 'slept till he snored' - i find it difficult to believe he will be attentive and alert enough to listen or see anything. Even with the jabbing, one can continue to return to slumber land - i mean we all use the snooze button right? And some of us are still late.

So i bet his attitude towards this concert is rather... I mean sleeping in another artiste's concert front row. Afterall he has mentioned that he just wants to see how a Japanese concert is like.
So even if he is 'reputated' to be '歌唱功力一流' [rather good with singing], I doubt he can compare since he has never been to a pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ concert, especially one that brings in the best equipment, air flown from japan/
So yeah I finally know how rude one can be - like what babamon has said - telling the whole world he slept in the concert. It's just telling the whole world ayu's concerts are boring....

Ayu didn't lipsynchs her lives, rarely, she can uses instrumentals -so we can still hear her voice in the backsound like in the Ladie Night performance @ (miss)understood Tour-, but still she DOES sing during tours!
I don't remember seeing her lipsynching during tours, TV maybe, but NOT Tours v.v

Good to hear that about her voice. I hope there will be some footage of this concert on the DVD (can't remember if one has been announced yet, but I'm guessing it's likely).
