Difference between single and album songs

Hellos. :)

I've been going through all my music and separating them by album / single / track / etc. and I noticed two of the songs on her "A" single sound totally different than the album counterparts (monochrome and too late.) The other two songs sound the same, though (End roll and Trauma.) So, I was wondering if there were any other songs that sound different than what the albums release?

In fact, after the Free & Easy single, she stops naming them "Free & Easy - original mix" and just does "Dearest" and what not.

Just wanted to make sure there were no more differences outside of monochrome and too late, since I don't want to be uploading the same exact song twice on my iPod. x.X

Thanks a bunch!

It Was *pun*

many people prefer the single version over (miss)understood's

+Etra 28th December 2007 03:39 AM

Oh wow. Thanks a ton! I didn't know that about alterna, either!

TuNaRoLl1024 28th December 2007 08:16 PM

wow i notice the differences now :/ not sure which one i like more...

nightlightyear 28th December 2007 08:55 PM

Whats the difference between the single and album version of alterna? I can hear the differences in the other songs but what about alterna? Should I be able to hear the difference?

zoomzoom 28th December 2007 09:12 PM

^ The alterna difference is really obvious. It's like.. more screetchy in the album version when she sings hey hey

ImpactBreaker 28th December 2007 09:30 PM

Yeah, plus it gives an impression that the guitars tempo is slightened fastened up, and it sounds a little rougher/screetchy.

Yeah but it says 'single version'...it sounds exactly the same though :/

ImpactBreaker 30th December 2007 11:47 PM

Yeah, that's why I mentioned I was unsure. Some of those changes are very hard to notice but they ARE there: TO BE for example, the single version, the album version and A BALLADS are all different, but the casuial listener we telll they're the same. As for Secret, I still wasn't able to notice any difference...yet.

I never noticed that before, but for some reason I always prefered the single version over the album one.

I always liked to compare the album version of alterna to Ayu's voice being drowned out by a vacuum cleaner as she sings her "HEY HEY" part. :P

I never noticed the differences in TO BE. :shrug
I know they must be there, I just honestly don't know what's different.

glitter on GUILTY is a bit different as well but only slightly. You can hear her take a breath before the song begins. Very minor but I really like how they added that in there.

zoomzoom 10th January 2008 02:57 AM

^ Hmm? Really? I gotta check that out

q_case2alterna 9th August 2008 10:52 AM

how about Startin'?

i think that song have some different arrangement in single & the album version
