Girls' Generation, also known as SNSD, the acronym of So Nyeo Shi Dae (Hangul: 소녀시대; Hanja: 少女時代), is a nine member girl group formed in 2007 by SM Entertainment. The group debuted on SBS's Popular Songs on August 5, 2007, performing their first single, "Into the new world". The members are (in order of official announcement) Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Taeyeon (the leader), Jessica, and Sunny. They are said to be a multilingual group. Aside Korean, they speak English, Chinese, and Japanese.

MUSIC GENRE: K-Pop! Sort of like BoA's Korean pop songs. :yes :heart

Lol, I confounded it with Wonder Girls, lol. Well I didn't find that too ;/ I'll download the 192K then.

^ Oh! Wonder Girls is pretty good too. They are more urban than Girls' Generation, even though they are younger.

Girls' Generation's album is super poppy, lol. I managed to listen to the album once and like a few songs. Their Kissing You performance and music video is so cute it kinda freaks me out, lol.

I really like a few of the girls, and the others are whatever. There's just one that itches my eyes, lol. They're selling well though. I think they sold 50k or possibly over in November. That already beat the Wonder Girls.

i really like So Nyeo Shi Dae...*haha i need to use Korean as much as i can...i need to imerse myself, cuz im trying to learn it at the moment...* they remind me of Morning Musume, just with amazing vocal talent. Im not saying anything bad about Momusu, but Girls Generation has some awesome singers.

Agreed. I listened to them and I quite liked it but I'm not in love. CSJH is a million better.

At first when I saw their MV for Girls' Generation, I was kind of like "Ack, one of those girl groups...." But then I kept listening to the song and realized that I like it a lot. :) I can't really decide if I like SNSD or Wonder Girls more, lol. They're both fairly new, so I'll have to listen to more of their releases (whenever they release more) and decide then. :yes

But I think I like Wonder Girls better, their songs are catchier to me :D

You guys shouldn't compare Girls' Generation, Wonder Girls and Tenjo Chiki. Their music is just too different!

Girls' Generation: Cute/upbeat/pop + ballads
Wonder Girls: Urban/retro/hip-hop/pop
Tenjo Chiki: Sexy/urban/R&B/up-beat/pop + ballads/harmonies

i tried listening to their album but i just couldn't... it was so damn bubblegum poppy. if i were ten years younger i might have enjoyed it.

I love Girl's Generation-I hated them to begin with I think it was because they were pinned as "The Girl Super Junior"and being the Super Junior Fan-boy that I was I got angry. haha. Plus, I thought Into the new world was really lame when I first herd it BUT as most K-Pop I grew to love it! XD My favourite songs are Girl's Generation and Tears-but seriously-HOW HOT DOES DONGHAE LOOK IN THE KISSING YOU VIDEO!????? XD *Ahem*

My favourite member is Taeyeon, she's pretty(Even though she looks WAY too much like BoA its scary.) and her voice is amazing.

I hate YoonA though-she's a PV/CM/Concert ***** and just appears in TVXQs and Sujus videos way too often. XD

^^ Ummm. Yeah. A lot of fan-girls (but in your case fan-boy) hated Girls' Generation before they even started singing. Just because they were labeled the female version of Super Junior. But honestly, I think that's just a little stupid. XD I know people who hate BoA just because she's close to the members of DBSK. Right... She's older than them anyway? LOL. Fan-girls are weird. :shrug

That's Taeyeon! She's the leader, and also my favorite.
