It all depends

It's funny that whenever I get depressed I find myself listening to fated and maybe marionette. On better days I listen to glitter and maybe Blue Bird. Anybody going through something similar? What songs are for when you're happy and when you are sad? Right now I'm listening to fated since I'm going through a tough time.

i usually listen to marionette, a song for xx or something of the like when i'm sad. but sometimes when i'm sad i listen to boys&girls and it gets me in a really happy mood. :)

but on happy days i listen to greatful days, boys&girls, my all, trauma etc.

I usually listen to Who... when I feel kinda down or nostalgic.

Any summer song is up for grabs when I'm happy.. But Born To Be... is a BIIIIG winner when I'm OMG HAPZ.

Honestly, any Ayu song (as long as it's not one I don't particularly care for) is enough to bring up my spirits when I'm feeling either nervous, depressed, stressed, or any kind of discomfort. Her music especially comforts me when I do homework and get frustrated with it...it's difficult to explain but it just keeps me going. Or for example, I was really nervous on the day of my band duet that I had for a final at school, but on the way to school I was listening to Ayu (don't remember what song it was) and it helped me to relax a little. But I will agree that Ayu's happy upbeat songs are th best to listen to when I'm feeling down.

I'm thinking that I shouldn't listen to a song for xx when depressed mainly because the last part about always being alone...

She should have more songs for times of anxiety....most of the stuff she releases nowadays actually does the opposite with too much loud synth rock.

She has good ones for anxiety. IMO those songs are like Liar, HOPE or PAIN, (miss)understood, still alone, It was. To name a few. I love her sad/anxious song the most.

edit:
and especially GUILTY, yes.

Sort of...I guess it's just how you see things. But the album does have a darker theme to it, so it's understandable why it might make someone feel anxious.

angelicwitch1983 6th February 2008 05:47 AM

I kinda wish she made another song similar to monochrome. Maybe she did and I missed it. Now I'm listening to memorial address.

when i am feeling down or depressed, i usually like to listen to dark or sad ayu songs because happy songs would likely make me feel worse. some of the songs i enjoy listening to are together when, rainy day, happy ending, a song for xx, HEAVEN, memorial address, Dearest.

Cys86 6th February 2008 09:15 AM

When I'm sad I listen to M, fated, Moments, Hanabi ~II~, HEAVEN, Endless sorrow and many more and when I'm happy I listen to SURREAL, B&G, until that Day, Daybreak, flower garden, Humming 7/4

JEWEL, Dolls, Will, rainy day, teddy bear

Whenever I'm bored, or nervous, lyrics to Fated would definitely come out of my mouth most of the time. When I want to concentrate on something, like homework, I'd put on her rock songs, like Talkin' 2 Nyself, full volume. I always work that way XD

WHen I want to sleep, my lullabies are normally Memorial Address, or Together When, or Untitled ~for her~...mostly her soft ballads, they make yu sleepy, don't you think so? XD

Suteisi 6th February 2008 02:12 PM

Usually when I'm feeling sad, I'll try to listen to happy songs to feel better. Usually Fly High, Trauma and all those 'hyper-go-happy' songs cheer me up and make me feel better. But other times, I'm just feeling sort of neutral, if I put on Forgiveness, Who..., Carols or Heaven, those ones can make me feel down and make me cry too.

@Majrakun: I can't sleep with music, even if they are slow, I'll just end up singing along and not falling asleep xD

Kei Rei 6th February 2008 04:19 PM

i listen to Ayu almost all the time, except when i'm in a bad mood. XD sometimes i just feel like staying in a bad mood for some reason, and Ayu cheers me up too much to listen to at those times.

when i'm sad, though, i listen to things like HEAVEN, Memorial address, untitled ~for her~, etc. those songs that can make me cry at the right time. :]

Melrose 6th February 2008 07:20 PM

I listen to just about anything. :P I don't listen to just sad songs or just happy songs when I'm sad or happy. Though, actually, I -always- listen to her dark rock songs when I'm angry. decision and Because of You are my favorites. Full volume and kick some mean people butt! xD I don't know why, but I can only listen to Because of You when I'm very sad/angry. If I'm not in either of those two moods, they only make me feel that way so I don't listen to it.
