Ayu won an award at Taiwan Hito music award 2008 for JEWEL under Japanese songs. Other Japanese winners are Utada and News.

Check the avex taiwan website :yes. "閃耀" is the official Chinese translation of "glitter"; "璀璨" is "JEWEL" under the Secret album tracklisting.

I see, thanks for correcting me and sorry about the confusion. Though I must say avex taiwan has pretty swrewy translation; 璀璨 which translates to 'radiance' is nothing even remotely close to jewel. Ah whatever.

I'm positive it's JEWEL.

Regarding the issue on awards, I think the statement she made in 2004 was directed towards the Japan Record Award (not sure of the exact name) that she won three years in a row for. I may be wrong on this.

This award is from a large radio station in Taiwan though, so it probably doesn't matter to them if Ayu wants the award or not, as long as they award it to the most popular Japanese songs in Taiwan.

Yeah I totally agree with you on that. It should've been "寶石" or something or the sort :headache.

Congrats to ayu! even though the direct translation is "寶石", but i think it sounds kinda weird..."璀璨" sounds a bit better..hehe
