Bootleg/original differences?

I'm wondering what the content-wise differences between bootlegged and original versions of DVDs and CDs are? I don't mean booklets, CD images, etc. but the music and concerts themselves.

the different is quality. Best quality in original.
In bootleg you can get just converted 192kbps mp3

Yep, the quality isn't as good. Also, sometimes, they don't have the right songs.

Nick's site is probably the best (and only) site to get info on this! :)

IMO bootleg is like me downloading bunch of music from the internet and burn it onto disc then sell it. tracklist is random? depending on what the bootleger wants to makes.

yea, that site is pwnsome!

KuroixShiroi_Namida 10th April 2008 10:08 AM

eneabba.net is awesome!

And it's hilarious because i see lots of those bootlegs at my favourite music store. On the top shelf it's all the legit CD's but on the bottom layer...all BOOTLEGS LOL! I had to laugh when i saw the fake covers of the albums...

kendelle 10th April 2008 01:11 PM

Lol I received the bootleg (m)u CD from eBay once, with Ayu hits such as "GRATEFUL DLAYS", "BOLD & BELICIOUS", "MEMORIDL ADDRESS" and "JULYLST" D:

majrakun 10th April 2008 01:17 PM

^ that's just toooo random! XD

KuroixShiroi_Namida 10th April 2008 01:24 PM

Lol @ kendelle

how much did that cost you?

kendelle 10th April 2008 02:17 PM

It was about $32.00! AND the picture in the listing was of the real CD >=/

When I opened it for the first time the box was made of cardboard, and the plastic section holding the 2nd disc (a rubbish copy of Moments) fell out and cracked! I got my money back when I filed a dispute though (lucky!) - and kept the crappy bootlegs!

Deneb 10th April 2008 02:20 PM

ouch xD that's why u should only buy cd with pictures of the actual case. not no pictures or album art :D glad you god your money back though ^^

So true, I simply love that 'site. Its very informative and it has a complete details of every product of Ayu's records.

EDIT:
Im also a victim of a bootleg.
I buy a "MY STORY" album in our local Anime merchandise shop and I've noticed something strange after I bought it.
Ayu's official Record label was "AVEX TRAX", but in my "MY STORY" album was "MIYA records".
So, I found out that this a fake one when I visited the eneabba.net site.

And that time, I felt really GUILTY from buying BL CDs.

bad luck :( somehow people tend to sell bootleg in anime shop/expo :shakehead

Lanz16 10th April 2008 04:18 PM

^ That's really true.
They didn't know the real thing from the bootleg because they care about that they sell and sell stuffs without recognizing the real ones from the fake ones.
Oh, there is a shop in our local mall that sells TONS of JPop CD and DVD bootlegs.
Most of it are from China or Taiwan and some of the are from "MIYA Records".

Suteisi 11th April 2008 12:49 AM

I would never buy CDs and DVDs in Anime convention for that reason. Unless they are anime... but even then... the only authentic stuff I found in Anime conventions are WAAYY expensive. And mangas... xD

Milox 11th April 2008 01:52 AM

Actually most Duty, I Am..., A ballads, and Rainbow cds in ebay are bootlegs. Have to be extra careful with those
