Gackt to Star in a Hollywood film.

The film is named after a type of traditional Japanese puppet theater, but the universe it is set in also draws inspiration from origami, video games, and other sources. Hartnett plays a drifter on a quest for revenge. Gackt will play his companion, a samurai named Yoshi.

This is Gackt's first movie role since he starred with hyde in the 2003 film "Moon Child."

Filming began in Romania during the middle of this month. The movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in 2009, but no release information for Japan has been announced yet.

I'm with the hesitant ones on this. Gackt in a movie? Just him in general is enough for me, never mind him actually acting in a Hollywood film.

his English is actually really good. and if he's playing a Japanese guy - a SAMURAI, i think a lil Engrish is ok.

and i LOVE Moon Child ^^

I know Gackt is trying to bring Asian music exposure in the US. and hopefully this movie will help.

I hope the film kicks ass! ^^

I'm really excited about this movie. I don't even care to find out more about the storyline. I think I'll just watch it because it's a Hollywood movie with Gackt in it.
