well to me it's not a stupid question Seb but I'm surprised she took after her mum's surname

heh lol, i read somewhere before hamasaki is her mother's surname :innocent, her father left when she was like 3 or something :shrug ran away?

If her father left them when she was young, it's normal for her to want to use her mother's surname.

My mother's father was never there for her, and she got her surname changed to her mother's because of that.

Yeah. I read it in a radio show that Ayu spoke in back in 1998, I think. Her mother's surname is also Hamasaki. =D

Well he must have been a pretty big ass to leave them in the first place <_<". At least he didn't try to get in contact with Ayu after seeing how famous she became..that would have been low. (Unless he died before that o_o)
