I'm going on the 20th of September and I'm sitting somewhere at the back with the really bad tickets. XD;

me0wie 14th July 2008 05:13 AM

oh... but at least u're going!! where are u seated?

ayu_ayu301 14th July 2008 07:46 AM

i went to the concert in HK last year and will be doing again this year .. not sure where i'll b seated though yet

me0wie 14th July 2008 08:44 AM

ooh. i was actually looking for someone who went to the hk concert last yr cos i wan to ask abt the camera issue... I heard they will collect ("confiscate") your camera before you go in, and you have to go collect it back after the concert? is it safe to do so? how they know whose camera it is? or is it better to just not bring my camera?

btw, u going for the concert on the 20th or 21st?

extepan 14th July 2008 12:43 PM

^ yes, they make you hand in your camera when you go in, then you get it back after the concert. if you are caught taking photos during the concert, then the security take you away for 15 minute or so, confiscating your camera.

YaMaYuMi 14th July 2008 03:15 PM

Mine;
20 Sept - Block 10-2
21 Sept - Block 15-2

see yah~

extepan 14th July 2008 03:24 PM

i am still thinking whether to go or not. i enjoyed the last year's concert a lot ,and i thought i would go again. but this time the venue is all the way in tung chung...it's so far away.

CHAS_AYU 14th July 2008 03:33 PM

extepan, you haven't bought a ticket for the show?

dez0424 14th July 2008 07:03 PM

for the camera thing,
i think it's up to the venue/local security to decide what to do.

last time i went,
i just hung my camera to my belt, i didn't try to hide it.
i let them check my nearly-empty bag.
that guy looked into it for 2 seconds and let me in.
i wanted to bring my camera in so i can shoot the setting before/after the show.
i did that, no one stopped me.

i heard from friends sitting all over the place,
that they saw security bringing ppl out of their seats,
some returned sometime after, some were never seen again.

so please, don't trade your enjoyment with a few pics/vids.

---

since it's a different venue this time, i'm not sure how avex will arrange booths for selling goods,
but i believe it starts around 5pm.
so if you really wanna buy something,
make you're there early in the morning, like 8am or before.

if you have an "Octopus" (the smart-card for transportation in hk),
you can enjoy a discount for travelling on the Airport Express:
1. Use your octopus card
2. get on airport express at any station except airport
3. stay at asia world expo for at least 2 hrs
4. exit at the same station you got on

the most expensive fare for this would be hkd$72 (go+return).
for a normal single/return journey ticket, it's $100 (go+return).

go here for details: http://mtr.com.hk/eng/airport_express/tf_index.html

asia world expo is very far from the city centre.
for airport express, it's a 30min ride.
for bus, it's 90mins.
so i suggest u all to go on airport express for comfort and less fuss.

make sure you have accomodation.
otherwise, u might have to spend the night in 24hr mcdonalds,
and this wont be nice cos you always have to be on "alert" mode out on the streets.

--------

places to go,
depends on what you are looking for.
generally a short ferry trip across the harbour,
up to The Peak by the Tram in Central.

if you're looking for CDs and stuff like that,
go to MongKok's Sino Centre,
you'll find japanese cds/dvds etc.
which should be cheaper than HMV.

ps. always ask for help if you're confused, we don't bite.

me0wie 15th July 2008 02:37 AM

wow! thanks dez0424! i'm currently looking for cheap accommodation... since its quite expensive to stay in hk... i guess i'll bring my camera still since i wanna take pictures of the venue and all. i'll just have to hope they have a good system of collecting cameras and giving them back...

8am and before? :| 9 hours or queuing?? wonder if its worth it...

ayu-mix91 15th July 2008 02:46 AM

Honestly though, what's the big deal with taking the odd photo or two? =S

royle 15th July 2008 04:45 AM

Well, I booked tickets through Hang Seng, and they're arriving in August, so I don't really know yet. XD I'll be somewhere at the back in block 8, 9, or 10.

Oh, booking through hang seng is equally if not even more difficult than booking through hkticketing! Especially since I was only booking the bad tickets. You see, hkticketing's tickets for the 2nd concert venue is still available, and the site is not flooding! I think surely, if I tried I can get another set of tickets from the site, I can! But Hang Seng was sold out the next day, and not only that, flooding on the site was... amazing. I was clicking "preorder now" for 4 hours until it worked. XD;

I wish my tickets would arrive already. >.>

me0wie 15th July 2008 07:19 AM

hmmz.. good luck on the tickets... hope u get not so bad seats... 2 more weeks or so till my tickets arrive... now i'm having weird thoughts about flying off to hong kong and forgetting my concert tickets! :x

aqua_crystal 15th July 2008 07:45 AM

Man, you guys are soooo lucky!!! I wish I was allowed to go.... :weep

tinka69 15th July 2008 07:47 AM

I have school.

So no.

Although I would LOVE to go. In fact, it's kind of a dream of mine to go to an Ayu concert. ...something that I may never do *sobs*.

me0wie 15th July 2008 02:19 PM

dun give up! it WAS a dream for me. now its a dream come true!!!!
