In a teleconference with reporters, Aguilera acknowledged influence on "You Are What You Are," a moody, ambient remake of her hit "Beautiful" from the upcoming "Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits" and confirmed the Zero 7 associate and solo artist will be working with her on the new album.

"I'm definitely a fan of Sia's," said Aguilera, who previously told Billboard about her desire to pursue a more "futuristic" sound on the album. "I was thrilled she also wanted to work together and, in turn, was a fan of mine."

Aguilera said the two plan to hit the studio in January but are "setting the wheels in motion now ... I'm not exactly sure what we're gonna get when we get in the studio together, but (as) with all great things I'll go in and there's probably magic to be had."

Aguilera said she's been listening to "a lot" of Sia, Goldfrapp and Ladytron during the past year, which impacted not only "You Are What You Are" but also the "Genie in a Bottle" revamp "Genie 2.0" and the two new songs on "Keeps Getting Better": the title track and "Dynamite."

As for other collaborators on the album, which will follow-up 2006's "Back to Basics," Aguilera said there's "nothing I can give away now, but there's always somebody that I'm inspired by to work with. I have to keep under wraps who that would be, just 'cause I always like the element of surprise."

She's working with Sia? Thats kinda wierd.

kirei_ayumi 10th November 2008 09:28 PM

ah~ I'm surprised Reflection is not there. I'll be picking up a copy later

haikudasai 10th November 2008 09:43 PM

The new version of 'Beautiful' is definitely the best way to ruin an anthem song.

I heard the Genie 2.0 version and although I don't like it more than the orginal, I must say that I like it. lol Keeps Gettin' Better has ran it's course with me. I overplayed it and now I can barely even listen to it.

As for me picking up the album, I'm only getting it if the america gets the CD+DVD version as well. Before i knew a CD+DVD version was going to be released, I read on wiki that Japan was getting the CD+DVD version while America only gets the CD only version. :irked I hope that it's not true. That'll be so unfair if we don't get it.

bondingo 11th November 2008 12:35 AM

I'll be buying the CD+DVD version at Target tomorrow. I can't wait to finally have Genie 2.0!

milky_way 11th November 2008 12:40 AM

I haven't decided whether or not to get this. I may just buy the new songs from iTunes. I can't wait for her new album next year :D

ETA: Are they even releasing it on iTunes?

Partino 11th November 2008 12:41 AM

GENIE 2.0 is PURE :heart

it's awesome and naughty and ..... roar ... everything it should be....:laugh

I FREAKING LOVE THIS NEW STYLE OF X-TINA!!!!

Lee_410 11th November 2008 01:33 AM

Genie 2.0 is so awesome!

ayu_ayu301 11th November 2008 01:56 AM

i like Genie 2.0 and Keeps Gettin Better ... but You are what you are ... wow .. totally sux

dddaiyamondo 11th November 2008 02:23 AM

What a horrible album! Of course the classics ("Genie in a Bottle" and "Come On Over") are good, but the new songs are a mess. "Dynamite" is one of the worst Xtina songs I have ever heard. This whole electronic style she's got going on is not working with her voice.

Temari_2 11th November 2008 03:33 AM

Finally a Christina Aguilera thread. Not sure if I'm going to buy this album or not since there isn't "Reflection" on here

Luv ~Venus~ 11th November 2008 03:53 AM

^lol I was going to make one when I made the Beyonce thread but I was too lazy to do it after I made the Beyonce thread. :bchuck

IMO, Reflection isn't that good. In fact, I think it's annoying. I really hate that she didn't have We're a Miracle on there tho. OMG! I luff that song to deff. Now I need to dl that song while it;s on my mind. lol

I love Reflection myself. Definitely one of the best Disney songs ever in my opinion. I already own her debut album, so for me it doesn't really matter that Reflection isn't on the compilation. I'm much more disappointed that Lady Marmalade is on every edition but the American ones. I've never even heard of We're a Miracle though. What's it from?

Yes, totally agree. Reflection is boring and I don't even associate it with Xtina.

drewbilation 11th November 2008 04:58 AM

"We're A Miracle" is from the Pokemon movie OST, I think~

I think I'm gonna order the UK edition of her best album, as it comes with a couple bonus tracks and a DVD.

It's from the Pokemon 1st Movie soundtrack. One of the best OST eva. :cry So beautiful. :heart

I'm glad she decided to add I Turn To You but I'm terribly disappointed that she didn't add Blessed on there as well. That was my fave non-single track on her debut album. I just eff'n luved it so much. It always hit my heart every time I listened to it. :weep

When I had her first album, I skipped over it every time. :laugh It just messes up the mood after you hear Come On Over.

spookshow 11th November 2008 09:06 AM

i love Genie 2.0! awesome remix! i'm not really feeling the beautiful remix though...

i wouldn't naturally think to add Reflection, but now that you mention it, i would expect it to be added... but i don't reflection did as well in western countries as it did in asian countries

Wikipedia'd it and it was released on a different label, so I'm not surprised it's not on there. Xtina's version also didn't do well in Asia, the other versions by people like Coco Lee did well there.

freedreamer 11th November 2008 10:23 AM

genie 2.0 and Keeps are very gd! esp love the BOOM in Genie 2.0

the other two are really quite weak
