Does Ayu have a brother?
 

I read in a thread something that caught my attention, It is possible for ayumi to have a brother (or a sister).:irked

As far as we know, ayu's father left her and her mother when she was a baby. Well, her father could have found a woman and maybe they had children, so it is perfectly possible for ayumi to have a brother (or more), think about it, maybe you are ayu's brother or sister:lech.

What you think about that? Had you ever wondered that? I never thought about that possibility, but it is interesting to discuss about it. Maybe ayu's brother is her fan lol. Maybe ayu's brother has been in some of her concerts, maybe he lives near to her... we can only speculate but it is really frightening to consider that she has a brother somewhere. I want to hear your opinions, so let's start.:D

ooh this is a good topic! Good Job! it actually is very possible that she could have a sibling, but more likely to be a half- sibling. I have thought about this because i am always interested in her family history. Now that i do think about it Ayu's dad most likely does have another child like u said he left when she was 3 and he has the rest of his life so it would be very very very possible that she has a sibling. Another question or topic ( w.e) about Ayus daddy dying and the date being written on the mirror on the memorial adress cover booklet. cuz that has always been speculation. NEW TOPIC_ AYUS FAMILY!

Of course i meant half-brother, but i didn't know the word in english haha, sorry, this is my second topic on this forum, so i hope a lot of people post on it.

um...well....we'll never know @_@, and did her father ever remarry?

It's an interesting theory, sadly, we'll probably never know for sure. I'd have to wonder, even if she did have more siblings(half siblings) would she accept them as part of her family or reject them.

Given that ayu (as of 2002) didn't know if her father was even alive or dead, I doubt she had any idea if he'd ever remarried or if she possibly has any half-siblings as a result....

There's the possibility that, if "Memorial address" is about her father, he's died since then and she knows now whether or not he remarried or had more children, but if he did, she hasn't said anything one way or another. But she's usually fairly transparent about big important things, so we'd probably know if ayu discovered she had a brother or sister she'd never met (or she'd at least have songs in 2003 and 2004 whose lyrics hinted to a discovery of that magnitude).

So I would have said in 2001 or 2002, that yeah, it's possible for ayu to have half-siblings she doesn't know about... but since I'm fairly sure Memorial address is about her father, I'm HIGHLY doubtful that he ever had more kids after divorcing ayu's mother, because we would have at least gotten some hints at this point.

Ayu's mom left her? I knew her Grandmother raised her, but I thought her mom was also around. I think I read somewhere that she was working all the time or something. She mentioned in an interview that her hero was her mom though.

I bet she has a little sister doing gravure somewhere cashing off the fact that she's related to Ayu! (I'm kidding.) Like that one AV actress, "Rina Dison" imitating Leah Dizon. (That's true though;) （≧д≦）／

and it sure would be an interesting thing if Ayu did have a sibling, but if she did, we'd know about it by now :P

Even then, it's possible for her to have a half sibling she didn't know about. Just because she found out about the death of her father, does not mean she would know whether she has a brother or sister by him elsewhere (he could have left them too, just like he did Ayu). But really, there is absolutely know way for us to know one way or the other, it's just a possibility.

btw, I know on here it's a popular theory that Ayu's father was a foreigner in the US military and that's why he left and was never heard from again. Well, I did some searching on Japanese message boards and it seems a popular theory there is that Ayu's father was a yakuza member and he left because he was transferred from the Fukuoka branch of the gang to the Yamaguchi branch. His gang membership is why he has been kept so secret from the press.

I wonder that, too. It'd be kind of sad if she rejected them if she had a half-sibling somewhere. :(

Do you really think so? I'm not saying you're right or wrong, but I personally don't think we would've heard about these sort of things. I can understand if she broke up with a boyfriend or had a new love and she wanted to share the news. But I don't think she'd share family news with any of her fans whether it be in a magazine interview, song lyrics, etc. It just seems too personal. The only one she'd talk about it with, if anyone, would probably be her best friend.

I don't know, that's just my opinion. :P

I remember an interview i read on the web some years ago...

"when i was a kid i used to hear rock, like led zeppelin and deep purple, influenced by a relative. now i listen to r&b artists like baby face and en vogue..."

I believe she is still influenced by this relative, since there's a lot of rock in her whole discography (Lars Ulrich, from Metallica, used to be a huge deep purple fan as well)

From this point on, everything else is pretty much especulation; someone stated that this relative was her brother, and others have said it was a cousin... i have no idea who was that person, but its for sure that one had a significant influence on her :)

I had never heard it either, but I found it mentioned in a few different Japanese sources. Of all the theories it does seem to be a plausible one. Ayu did describe her mother as being kind of young and wild and her mother and father were never married; it wouldn't exactly surprise me if she got involved with a young yakuza member. It is still just a theory as far as I can tell, but it would help explain some things.

I read on wikithppn that that person was "her brother".... not exactly reliable though (what I read).

The numbers (a.k.a the date) on the mirror is June 30th.

Well.. i thought ayu was the only child. But we will never know whether her dad remarried and had kids. Ayu doesn't even know if he is dead or alive. But even if he is alive, he would definitely know that his daughter is like one of Japan's biggest celebrities. Her half siblings or siblings, if she really had any, could be among us :)
