Not surprised in the least. Utada is always on top in the Downloads. And wow, even her 4 year old Singles Collection charted in the top 40. Crazy amazing stuff.

i wonder how much the physical album sold if HS' not released digitally. @_@

Purple Neko 4th December 2008 02:37 AM

I bought the physical album but still YAY she deserves it!!!! <3

AyUta 4th December 2008 03:02 AM

Congrats to Hikki! :heart

UHPlus 4th December 2008 03:29 AM

lol! That's the reason why the album never sold over a million! Most of the people downloaded it! Double edged sword...

CoriKaru 4th December 2008 04:25 AM

Maybe, but considering what the Album did sell physically, even with having the top number in downloads, it's quite a feat in itself. To remain on the top with physical sells even with an exuberant amount people still downloading the album (Which can kill an Album's sales, which in this case it obviously didn't), causing her to dominate that realm as well. Wow. But yeah, I would have loved for more people to have purchased the physical album, like I did, than to download it. Album would have been NUCLEAR.

Melon Panda 4th December 2008 04:53 AM

I'm not surprised. :)

jpopfan 4th December 2008 04:58 AM

Thats great that she did so well. I still need to fully listen to the album though ><

acougan 4th December 2008 05:12 AM

is it cheaper to buy the whole album of iTunes Japan than a physical CD? maybe some fans prefer the convenience of iTunes?

CoriKaru 4th December 2008 05:47 AM

Yeah, it's only $9.99 to purchase the Album on iTunes whereas ordering it online is much more with tax and shipping as well adding to that. Don't know how much it is in Japanese stores though where you can just walk in and pick it up off of the shelf. I would still imagine it's more expensive than $9.99 though.
