Do you follows Ayu voice correctly when you sing her songs?

The thread Ayu's high notes inspired me to ask this one:

Do you follows Ayu voice correctly 100% when you sing her songs?
I mean like JEWEL, RAINBOW, and others..

Actually, my dad was laughing when hears Ayu voice at talkin' 2 myself Asia Tour 2008 opening.. I mean the first two lines..

Lee^ChaN 12th January 2009 02:23 PM

never followed it..

alternarist 12th January 2009 02:35 PM

of cos follow. if not it sounds weird.

maikaru 12th January 2009 03:13 PM

I think the songs will sound empty without her vibrato..
Actually, I dont really like when people dont use vibrato singing her songs..
It sounds so different, and I feel like "thats not what I am used to!!!!" ahahaa.

To me, it feels like... a Diva Queen~
Cause whenever she is moving her mouth with vibrato,
She looks like "Im gonna to kill someone"
Or.. "I am such a pro~"
ahahaha

I love that face~

^ Ahaha, yeah it's FIERCE like Mirrorcle World (I mean in aspects of being fierce)! And whenever I'm singing Ayu's songs I will DEFINITELY vibrato... I think vibratos are like a very "Ayu" thing... the song sounds lifeless without vibrato... especially in Ayu's songs.

stepYOU1234 12th January 2009 08:14 PM

Yup when I am able. It is *needed* in Dearest for "aru you ni~i~i~i" it makes it sound so much more powerful and intense!

ALfromHELLSING 12th January 2009 08:18 PM

I hated her vibra at first, but now I think it's kinda her "TM".
Back to the topic I'm trying sometimes, but I can't almost always copy her at least half good. lol

haikudasai 12th January 2009 08:21 PM

If I remember correctly I thought using your jaw for vibrato was a bad thing. You're tensing it up and release it several times and can cause pain... any professionally trained singers know this to be true?

I think her vibrato is atrocious at times.

When I sing with her songs I will usually just use my normal vibrato.

Sometimes I find myself singing a lower key too.

jbrat2219 12th January 2009 08:31 PM

It depends, if it's a slow song I try. If it's a face paced powerful song, I sometimes shout it for fun! I usually do this in my car while driving... the passengers usually think I'm weird xD;.... They'll be trying to talk to me and I'm like, "SHUT UP THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART, GENJITSU WA ITSUDATTE...." lol

Most people are impressed I know so many of her songs like I wrote them <_<;;;;

hoshiBlack 12th January 2009 08:54 PM

Her vibrato is probably what I love most.. gives the songs so much more melody!
So, yes, I end up following. It sounds wrong without it :/

You are not really supposed to move your mouth when you vibrato.
It means you are using your throat.
But most pop singers always move their mouth when they are doing it~
They are not trained to be opera singers and whatever~
I think it's most important if you are opera singer ^^)

emi♡ 12th January 2009 09:58 PM

Not all the time.

There are some songs I like to sing in harmony with her in certain places because I feel it would sound better lol

There's one note in blue bird I wish she would have changed...and I think forgiveness had one too, and endless sorrow, but I don't remember them all.

I don't follow her horrible vibrato. It's so ugly. Some songs sound okay with it in recording...but live, ew. She ruins some songs.

dreamland2.0 12th January 2009 10:37 PM

I try! But I don't have a natural vibrato so it's difficult for me to sing along with it! It's still fun to sing with her though!

lol when it starts to sound like a mating call/banshee scream is when I turn off the live and head to the studio recording.
