-Is Ayu often singing with "Playback"?-
 

Usually she lip syncs one song during her big concerts and thats its. Sometimes she will have for tv specials and a-nation a playback playing BUT she will sing live with it.

ANGEL'S SONG was PCDL0809, not AT08, sure she sometimes is singing playback, with ... no reasons sometimes, evolution at Asia Tour 2007 and Countdown Live 0708 for example were playback, but she sang that song on EVERY concert since 2001 and nobody knows why shes singing THAT easy song playback and harder songs completely live

^She didn't lip synch evolution, watch the TV versions and NOT the DVD versions and you will see.

It's ANGELS SONG, if theres any song that she would have to lipsync to make her other performances sound great, its the best song to sacrifice

in which of the concerts? and how come nobody ever brought the point that it was different in the tv versions when there were discussions about that performance? xD well, i dont want to download the complete files(too big for me and my connection) so i guess i will never know

So far, ANGEL'S SONG is the most obvious one.
However, I don't think that ayu lipsyches too much.

We've had this discussion plenty of times and avex heavily edits the audio of any performance that doesn't sound good in the TV versions so her lips and the vocals aren't in syncopation on the DVD

Well, it's not. There is technical support, which sitting in the audience(you can see their computers in the audience on every concert) - which deciding about volume, acoustic, effects etc.
So if they deciding to make this song a playbeck, they will off Ayu's mic to not make bad acoustic. By the way, LISTEN carefully to Angel's Song LATST LINES!! and you'll hear that it's LIVE!! You ill hear her breathing, real voice and back vocals!! So it's only up to techincal support sometimes decision about playback.

maybe theres a playback for the whole concerts and the staff decides to use one if she sounds bad xD
@ Evolution7/4 I listened to evolution CDL0708 TV version now, I dont have the AT07 dvd version one on my harddrive atm, but it sounds like at07 and cdl0708 dvd to me

really? because it's not a big deal at all, and Ayu does it quite a lot...

and with good reason.

but yeah, in the PCDL threads there's like pages and pages of discussion over this, people who say she doesn't and people who say she does lol

I totally thought that "playback" was like a band or something when I came in here :laugh

I honestly don't understand why it really matters. She only does it once in a while, and quite frankly, if I had shows like hers, I would too. Especially during high-energy performances or songs no longer in her range but she wants to keep in the original sound. It happes, and it doesn't make her (or anyone) a bad artist because of it.

it's all ayu's fault for her mistake of "motsu" and "mita" on ANGEL'S SONG that got us fans all agitated.. :P

ayu's frequency of lip-synching is sooooooo low compared to some taiwanese singers.. we should be grateful. and hell! PCDL was 3.5 hours long!! it's forgivable for ayu to lip-synch just one or two songs!!

you can sound very similar, but not the same, and she sounds the same, even does one syllabe less, just like she did on AT07 and CDL0708DVD, but on not a single other performance i can recall

lol so what? She used playback tracking. She can do whatever she wants. She's Ayu. And it' not like she lipping EVERY song. I really don't see what the big deal is here.

It really isn't a huge deal. I find it funny, actually. Hearing the real lyrics and watching Ayu's mouth... It's the one time I don't mind laughing and shouting, "FAIL!" :laugh

I actually don't find it big of a deal. Like Calico said, if I had a concert like hers, I'd lip-sync some parts too.

But then again, I don't mind lip-syncing in general.
