About HAL

I want to ask about HAL..

Is it a band?
Or just composers teams?
Because if i'm not mistaken, HAL were produced some songs...

I know HAL song from anime "Hikaru no Go" as 2nd Opening Song titled "I'll Be The One", when i'm listening to it, it really give me Ayu feel, because of the music..

And if i'm not mistaken again, the vocalist named were HALNA..

If it's Japanese, so HAL will pronounced as "Haru",
And the vocalist were "Haruna"..
It's sounding so Japanese..

Anyone can explain??

Sorry I don't have too much information, but from what I know H/\L is a team of 3 people... arranging music.

They are arrangers but were once a band (they started out as arrangers, then band, then arrangers again). Several different members go in and out (including a vocalist during the band age).

I had the same question about HAL as well. I thought it was one man who arranged music.

I only know one of the members of HAL is a female singer..

If I'm not mistaken, Yuta Nakano who composed Talkin' 2 myself and decision was once a member of HAL.

HAL has traditionally been two male arrangers who arrange for various avex artists. The members of the duo change now and then, but their sound is still consistent.

From about 2000-2002 (I think) they started an actual group and hired vocalist HALNA to write the lyrics and sing. You can see their various PVs to see what the guys looked like then.

They released 2 albums and then HALNA had to quit because of family issues (I think somebody was sick she needed to take care of?) They went back to being arrangers and still are today.

Yup. I'm a bit of a HAL fan.

Yuta also remixed some of Ayu's songs like Fly high (Higher and higher mix), SEASONS (Yuta's weather report mix) and NEVER EVER (Yuta's prayer mix).

HAL released 2 albums?

But they doesn't famous?
Like i said in first post, the songs are remind me to Ayu song, even i only hear 1 of their song..

They also released a best album. I think they did pretty well sales wise. They're probably one of the more well known arrangers on the artist-circuit so I think they're about as famous as they're going to get.

Here are some of their PVs:

the starry sky (arguably their most well known song, it was the ending theme to Angelic Layer)
