Rainbow House is closing down?

It's said that Ayumi's restaurant, Rainbow House is suffering great loss due to the tide attack on Japan, and bad comments about the interior decoration of the diner.

In fact, only 30% of the entire rstaurant was being occupied. Nobody complained about the food -- at least not in the article but one of the greatest flaw is that the steep price of the cuisines offered.

Also, the way that ayumi promotes her merchandises amd tropical plants inside the restaurant that much of them were occupying the walkways of the restaurant, making it quite narrow and uncosy.

Many people were just taking the restaurant as a giant background for them to take photos. Eventually ayumi also broke her promise of inviting the vocal of the Southern All Stars to perform in her restaurant.

Considering that the Kanto area has had a very cool and rainy summer, I'm not surprised that the beach house didn't do so well. In fact, most beach houses, beer gardens, ice cream parlors, etc... are empty... and losing business. Apparently onsen (hot springs) and hot noodles are all the rage this summer!

~Oo~

jerms 23rd August 2003 04:46 PM

HAHAHAHA hot noodles and hot springs. thats funny. :)

Well... Honestly, i think Ayu open the " RAINBOW HOUSE " in the wrong place. I don't think " RAINBOW HOUSE " is under the big hot sun at the beach. She should have open it at somewhere that poeple usually go to the beach and because " RAINBOW HOUSE " isn't under the sun that's why it look kinda dull. Add on there isn't any shop beside it.:shrug

Delirium-Zer0 23rd August 2003 10:01 PM

I think it was just a bad year to open it, considering the icky climate they've been having...next year it would probably have done well. plus ayu REALLY needs to learn to lower prices... the MTRLG and ayupan shops are just extortionate, now i hear the food here was expensive too? x_X silly ayu. Or whoever comes up with the prices for her businesses. x_x

miruku 24th August 2003 08:29 AM

so sad............................................... .............................................
but if i was a tourist.. i would take the Rainbow House as a giant background too~~

Again, i just give the credits to wherever I saw this news, be it the New York Time or Times magazines, whatever, alright?

If I see this piece of news in some sorta HK press of course I'll mention its origin.

The Rainbow House was going to close down on August 31st anyways, so this shouldn't be a surprise to any of you.

I don't know if the sales were any good, but I can't imagine too many ppl clamoring to be there if Ayumi wasn't around. Plus, the weather has been admittedly poor.

lizziemeister 27th August 2003 11:12 PM

tide attack.. eh?
hmm..

boogieordie 27th August 2003 11:16 PM

Yeah...It was always meant to close on the 31st of August. Only be open for the summer.

Stupid bad publicity, don't pay any attention to it.

wow. ash is back. :waves

ruixiong89 28th August 2003 05:19 PM

Anyway, I dun think the prices were decided by Ayumi. In fact, quite a lot of stuff are decided by her managers and things. But they definitely didn't expected the weather to turn out like that ... RAINBOW HOUSE was a really nice place, but yar, they should have relocated it to somewhere else or even convert it into a house with cement and stuff, with the beach house effect camouflage then perhaps they can have more stuffs.
