Ayu: Most remixed artist in history?

Is that true? I don't remember where I read it, but it said that she is the most remixed artist in music history and I was wondering about that..

..I wouldn't doubt it though.

chloeM 27th April 2009 05:45 AM

i think so... but did the review include the world wide singers or only J-Pop?

TakaSama 27th April 2009 05:49 AM

I don't know for sure, but I have to imagine that Madonna holds that title. Of course Ayu does have a huge number of official remixes, what with 10 track maxi singles and dedicated remix albums...

kendelle 27th April 2009 05:58 AM

She's have to be up high on the list. With the trances, the different versions of mixes, ro-mixes, eurobeats and maxi singles - she would be one of the artists with most official remixes...

noidea 27th April 2009 05:25 PM

Im sure shes in the top like...10 artists, but i have no idea if shes number 1

tasking 27th April 2009 05:52 PM

You probably read that on Ayu's wiki; I remember seeing it there.

I don't think it's unlikely that she's the one with the most officially released remixes under her own name. How many remix albums does an average western artist release? None at all, not even back in they 90 were they common.

Minttulatte 27th April 2009 07:25 PM

I think she was most remixed japanese artist in the world, not the most remixed artist in history. I could be wrong but this is what I think. :)

AyUta 28th April 2009 02:11 AM

Maybe in Japan/Asia. Not the world.

Ayumi27 28th April 2009 02:26 AM

In terms of official mixes, I do believe she's one of the most remixed artists in history

ownsarai 28th April 2009 03:12 AM

I would imagine so. If she's not THE most remixed artist, she has to be in the top 10.

Delirium-Zer0 28th April 2009 07:52 PM

Easily. I think Madonna has more remixes, but Ayu might be in second place. Bjork, BT, Garbage, and Nine Inch Nails are probably all in the top 10 as well, but I'd have to go through their discographies to see. Would make sense for Michael Jackson to be up there too given his popularity & status as a dance artist, but I've never really gone through his discography to see.

PinkShinigami 28th April 2009 08:21 PM

It's possible, as she releases whole remix albums, both official and unofficial. It doesn't sound far or impossible to me

Tasked 28th April 2009 08:39 PM

It's definitely possible. If you combine all remix albums, all remixes on singles (and GOSH, Ayu's has got a LOT of tracks on singles if you combine all 47 singles), ANDDD then all the vinyls.. yeah; she's got thousands.

Delirium-Zer0 28th April 2009 09:11 PM

I did a count of all her remixes once (not counting duplicates of any of them, so nothing on non-stop megamixes unless they haven't been released in any other form).... that was YEARS ago though. I should do it again just to see.

f1rz3n_0028 28th April 2009 10:12 PM

I would have thought so, and I searched on google, and a few pages said that she was!

Embleu 29th April 2009 10:23 PM

That claim might have come from Barry Walters of The Village Voice, who said that Ayu "is without question the most remixed human being in history", although he might be exaggerating. :P
