The 14th annual Nail Queen awards
 

The 14th annual Nail Queen awards were presented on Monday at the 2009 International Nail Expo. This year's winner in the music artist category was Anna Tsuchiya (25), while Tsubasa Masuwaka (24) won in the talento category and Kyoko Fukada (27) won in the actress category.

The men's award went to actor Junichi Ishida (55). A special prize was given to actress Mao Daichi (53).

This is Fukada's second Nail Queen award, as she previously received one in 2006. If she wins a third one, that would enter her in the "hall of fame," making her ineligible for the award after that. Last year, Kumi Koda (27) became the third person to accomplish the feat, having won in the music artist category from 2006 to 2008.

but I'm surprised too because although she's very beautiful and is usually wearing something interesting her nails usually don't stand out (except for those photos).

I'm sorry, I think Anna looked a hot mess at those awards, nails included. I don't see her as a nail queen. Tsubasa, I can kinda agree with. She usually has cute nails, but they have never been amazing, especially not for a gal.

Ew, I hate the long ass nails. I don't see how they're pretty or cool. It's like...witche's nails or something lol.

I love Anna's music & her as a person but yeah like you guys , she's like the last person I expect to win a Nail Queen award

If i were on the nail art committee, I'd have taken that award back. Those things are hideous. And if that isn't enough, the horrible eye makeup should be.

They would have done better to just give it someone like Miliyah Kato or something because honestly---other than this picture, I have NEVER noticed (or seen) Anna wearing false nails.

Was there no one else that could POSSIBLY have won that award? Did Japan just run out of people or something? x________x This is such a joke, especially how she looked at the awards. I know she's beautiful but she just looked disgusting.
