Regarding Next Level USB

I was reading this blog this evening and this post shocked me
Quote:

Around a month ago, the USB somehow became corrupt. I don’t know how it happened. In the morning around 7:45, I was adding a rar. file to my USB for safe keeping. Later that day around lunch, I put in the flashdrive expecting it to work, but it didn’t. For those of you who have one, you know that when you put it in, if you go to My Computer, there are two disks added, REMOVABLE and NEXT LEVEL, both of which are part of the flash drive. Also, after you put it in, a quick action icon for NEXT LEVEL pops up and the folder for REMOVABLE opens. Well, this time they didn’t. After that revelation, I went to My Computer and found the most disturbing thing I have ever seen: the NEXT LEVEL and REMOVABLE disk drives were replaced with Removable disk, both of them! I immediately tried to solve the problem by unplugging my flashdrive then putting pack in. That obviously didn’t work, so then I tried opening them, but it said that neither of them were formated. I then tried formating them, but that didn’t work either. When I tried formating the drive that would be NEXT LEVEL, it said the disk rights was protected, which is understandable since the album was put on an undeletable part of the USB. I also looked at the amount of memory that was on the what-would-be-NEXT LEVEL-drive only to discover that there was around 500 MB of free memory on when there should only be like 4.6 MB (since the album/PVs/album art took up the rest). I knew for sure then that the entire thing was lost. As for the other drive, the computer did attempt to format it, but it ended up saying that the disk was unable to be formatted. One of my friends tried to figure it out to no avail. He actually proposed that I drill out the inside of the USB and replace it with another one so I would still have to case. I was like, “Hell no *****!” I knew something had to be done though…
sorry for all the foul languages.not my fault.its the blogger who wrote it writes all these :mischief

so,i wonder anyone of you who've bought the usb facing such problem before?

y_nathz 21st March 2010 02:05 PM

The only thing happened to mine was LOVE'n'HATE sounded weird..

AngelSenshi 21st March 2010 02:37 PM

I don't have one, just to make that clear. But it's so odd since I've never really heard of this happening to the Ayu USB before.

But I guess in truth it's like any USB really, and these sorts of things happen. I used to have my writing on my USB and one day I went, plugged it in and all my documents had turned into blank spaces and a bunch of messed up punctuation everywhere.

nanakopy87 21st March 2010 02:42 PM

ouch,i guess it was infected by virus/trojans.i think she's unlucky?haha

y_nathz 21st March 2010 03:05 PM

Aww unlucky girl :(

I hardly ever used mine, whenever I missed the album I just played the mp3 that I downloaded :laugh
So I think mine was kinda away from virus XD

nanakopy87 21st March 2010 03:12 PM

lol.okay,i guess you bought the USB just to complete your collection? :D
so,other than the LOVE'n'HATE sounded weird and that unlucky girl's case, nothing weird/unlucky stuff happens right?I just ordered 1 for myself at cdjapan.hopefully mine will have no problem at all :D

Meat Pao 21st March 2010 03:49 PM

My USB kinda has a problem, but I think it's more of my computer's problem, lol, cuz when I plug in my USB nothing happens, and when I open My Computer it suddenly stops responding. Since then I stopped using it so it's in its case rotting there instead LOLOL

nanakopy87 21st March 2010 03:56 PM

lol.don't you think its kinda wasted because you can only touch it.you can't open the content o.O
i wonder can we email to cdjapan/yesasia(or whatever site where you placed your order) and complaint that the usb has problems or not?

agashi 21st March 2010 04:05 PM

@_@ thats what i afraid of...
i never use my usb ,i just keep it on my cabinet,,,:D better like that if you dont want your expnsive collection broken....

mobius 21st March 2010 04:10 PM

nana, I see you're still collecting ;)

Sounds like the girl is unlucky or might have a defectives flash drive

I wonder if the usb comes with any sort of warranty?

nanakopy87 21st March 2010 04:21 PM

haha.yes.collecting limited edition and first press item. i don't mind to use the free space available(maybe i can store her songs and bring it to work so that i can listen to them anytime anywhere)
ya.i want to know about the warranty too.but it seems like no one complaint about the defective ones to the online stores.the unlucky girl bought a new one instead of trying to email yesasia bout her usb. o.O
so i guess no warranty?

mobius 21st March 2010 05:00 PM

hmm, so no warranty huh? I thought it would at least I comes with some sort of warranty like for 1 year or something.

Lanz16 21st March 2010 05:28 PM

poor her :(

That flash-drive album was so expensive and it will happen just like that, I'll gone mad!

ohsixthirty 21st March 2010 05:51 PM

And that's exactly why I would never even think of using mine.

LacusClyne 21st March 2010 06:33 PM

my 2 USB are all safe and sound in the case.

i just use my first press usb once to copy the songs to itunes and upload the album tracks here, then it goes back to the case

while

the other one

.....the encore press was even unopen at all.....

I haven't had much problems with my USB, I really only used it to copy the files into my comp when I got it and recently to transfer files to my new comp because it was faster than burning them all onto CDs. I haven't used it since, and I'm thinking about buying the CD+DVD version of the album now after reading this, and maybe ask my brother to get me a flash drive like the USB stick or external hard drive that I could use instead.

gallowsCalibrator 21st March 2010 08:27 PM

The .rar file must have been infected with a virus, because there is nothing at all wrong with anyone's USB that I know IRL... That is actually the most probable thing, seeing as my friend's computer has crashed twice with viruses, but her USB is completley fine, because she didn't plug it in during the virus time period... So I'm pretty sure it's a virus, but I still feel really bad :( That would be awful, having something that expensive break like that :cry
