Singles are so much harder, mostly because there are more of them for every artist, so more competition, and less demand.

Albums are really guaranteed for really famous artists...and since less people are releasing albums at the same time since there's less of them than singles...it's much easier to manipulate the week of your releases so that, for example, Ayu isnt going up against EXILE or something.

And for artists that are lesser known and hardly ever get #1 albums...their singles usually fare much worse on the charts.

Besides, singles aren't as "tasty" either...usually they'll come with like a poster or something...albums have more content and you can get more goodies...price difference imo doesn't really matter that much.

Albums are always more desirable than singles.
