Mannie cheated on Ayu at some point during the relationship, went to the same places and did similar things while he cheated, but at some point down the line he realized that he loved Ayu more than this other girl. Ayu still loved him back and probably wanted to get back together at some point, but died before he could reunite with her. (Notice how his dead self keeps trying to get Ayu back) Ayu found out, and of course she moved away from the apartment they had once shared together, starting the events of Love song.
The past life thing just involves her and why she stopped when the other two people were robbing the bank. It just doesn't make sense that she would stop while a shootout is going on other than her possible deja vu-y moment.

So based on your theory, then the chronological order for the events should be... VR (their past life) --> Ls (current life, cheated by Mannie, then had a deja vu) --> La (some flashbacks of his cheating, got lost in her mind, then move on to another world (?) when the past Mannie came and picked her up).
This connection is interesting as well. VR part is quite more appealing now because it can either be the past life or the isolated world
