To be honest I expected hate from the Vkei fans with Pink Spider, because 'Pink Spider' was the first single released in the same month after Hide committed suicide, and was extremely popular because of it. I read that many fans believe that Hide was referring to himself as the 'Pink Spider' since his hair was always pink, and believe the lyrics were his suicide note before he committed suicide. (And looking at the English lyrics I can see why, especially with 'A pink spider flows across the sky' at the end). So it's quite a personal song for Hide fans, especially considering that after his death, 3 fans did copycat suicides, and apparently out of the 50k that went to his funeral, 60 were hospitalized and 200 received treatment in first aid tents. So given that the song is believed to have such a strong meaning (relating to his suicide), I can understand their dislike for Kuu's electro pop version with scantily clad prostitutes. XD Some probably feel her version is very disrespectful to the original meaning of the song and don't like it being used in a sexual way. (some who believe the lyrics are his suicide note probably find it being used in a sexual way disrespectful, maybe.)
I don't because I don't think Kuu would do anything deliberate to cause disrespect to such a famous artist who is still very much in everyone's hearts. I think Kuu (and vaguely remember her saying) does covers out of respect for that artist, which is why she covered Misono's song for her birthday. I personally like Kuu's version, but not being a fan of Hide I don't have that personal attachment many other fans probably do. So while I love kuu's version and see no deliberate disrespect from her part, I can understand why Hide fans may not be happy considering the believed meaning of the original lyrics.
As for the whole kyary x lovely thing...That just seems like a load of petty crap to me.
I really want to see both 'Pink Spider' PV and 'Shake Hip'! I'm downloading all 3 PVs in HD when they're out.
