I feel the same exact way. I think that's probably why I keep neglecting to update the very first post, sorry guys. I just have pulled away from 2NE1 a little bit more and more over the last year.
And, like you, I started to get rid of some of 2NE1's material to make way for other artists, lol. I didn't even purchase/download the Baddest Female OR Do You Love Me? If this was me with 2NE1 a year ago, I would have been all over that shit lol.
I think it's an accumulation of all the crap that's been going on with them the past year:
1. Made us wait forever for new music, got 'I Love You' and made us wait literally a year for their new material after a so-so single.
2. Kept being told that 2NE1 would come back and were trolled again and again by YG.
3. We were told that 2NE1 would have 'fresh' images, but it's basically the same designers/same crap on repeat. I can even name the same like 3 designers that 2NE1 uses the most (Jeremy Scott, Chrome Hearts, Givenchy) lol.
4. 'Falling in Love' (wow I even had to look up the name because I forgot what it was called) was a weak comeback single.
5. 'Do You Love Me?' is nothing new, it's basically a mash-up of "I'm Busy" (To Anyone), "Scream," and a smidge of "Try to Follow Me". In fact, if you mashed those three songs together, I wouldn't be surprised if the result was "Do You Love Me?"'s beat.
Not hating on the song more than that because I happen to LOVE those three songs, so I was happy with the result.
I mean, I could go on and on but I think I said - about a year ago, actually - that if YG continued to make 2NE1 fans wait, it would be a slap to their popularity, and that is
somewhat what's happening now lol.
I mean, over the past year I honestly was starting to think that CL's new career was as a fashion designer.
It really doesn't help that in that interview 2NE1 had a little while ago, CL's answer to the question: "Why do you think groups suffer from the 5-year-curse?" CL answered "Because their contracts were only for that long. 2NE1 still has a good amount of time to go in terms of our contracts so I don't think we will suffer the 5-year-curse."
Like really?
Shouldn't your answer have been something along the lines of, "I think 2NE1 is a great working team and we're all a family and very dedicated to our fans, so we'll stay together for a long time."
Geez. Even Seungri - in his latest interview - said that Big Bang would be together for a while because they were all brothers and loved their fans and couldn't do that to them.
