Well, the album MY STORY was sort of Ayu's first venture away from her 'I am Ayu the product' self. At least, I think so. M.A is when she began to reject that self, and MY STORY is completely 'devoid' of that Ayu.
You could say though that in her first albums she was a bit 'fresher' lyric-wise due to having experienced so much at the time. Now it's been almost 8 years and she's still writing and singing AND doing well. I think that's admirable.
Her lyrics are just as good in my opinion as they have been before.. maybe even better!
