Do you think Ayu Will make a comeback with the new Single??

I was wondering do you think Ayu will make a comeback and steal the glory from Kumi and do you think it will sell good.

Comeback?
Steal Glory?

Darlin' Ayu is still popular and still gets no.1 singles so you've got the wrong end of the stick

its not a comeback she needs its a hell load of sales

She's still hasn't been selling as much as she used to though. Maybe it's the market climate but if Koda Kumi can sell like a million copies of her album in a week I don't see why Ayu can't with the right songs.

Koda's album was a best album if you don't know.
how much of koda's singles actually hit no.1 maybe you should take a look.
But again I think the sales of Cds doesnt mean much in these days as there's other ways of sales. Online music stores like iTunes music store wasnt counted in the Oricon chart. So the total sales on Oricon doesnt reflect much on the sales of the album/singles.

I think it's ominous that last for all the 2005 singles, everyone was saying "I pray this one reaches 300,000!" and for 2006, it's "I hope it reaches 200,000!"
Next year will we be praying for 100,000?

I highly doubt that this single will give Ayu better sales. She's had a string that's FAR too long of singles that really don't resonate with her past work. And that's fine! It's good to change as an artist, but if the new style doesn't catch the attention of your main fanbase, sales are going nowhere but down!

So, unless this single has a lot of really good and catchy songs like H did, I doubt this single will sell anymore than her recent ones. I hope the songs are really good, though.. I could care less what Ayu's sales are. I just want a decent single!

She is always the queen till now...It is only the sales that is the problem....

If u r saying comeback re: sales, then i dont think so...its impossible to from 100K+ jump to more than half a million...i really dont think so judging on the market now

Hard to do comeback when you're still the number one . It's true though that her sales has gone down a lot, but that's not only because of her popularity decreasing. Today people buy less cd's, not only because of piracy, but because today it's not the same thing to buy a CD as it was a few years ago.

When I was in Tokyo (came back 5 days ago) you could still hear Ayu played everywhere, not only new songs but old aswell. Her songs were played way more than Ai Otsukas latest single. Ai Otsukas single was played a lot on the big TV screens in Shibuya, though, but that's because it's all new.

The last few days before I left Tokyo panasonic started their new D-snap campaign, Ayu's face was everywhere, around every corner, on every subway/JR line... for those who worry, don't, Ayu is still the number one.

There's no-ones face you will see more when you go to Tokyo than Ayus, possibly the face's of all Kat-Tun members together... hehe.

Rather true. I think it's possible for her to make at least 300K sales with this single since it's a triple a-side and it's her 40th single; all she really needs is promotion from avex. I just hope her fans don't set their expectations too high and end up getting disappointed.

everyone always talks about a comeback...my story was supposed to be her comeback album, heaven was supposed to be her comeback single, and then i think (miss)understood was supposed to be her comeback album yet again. i assume when people talk about ayu's comeback, they basically mean a return to the days of i am..., but in reality, thats never going to happen. ayu isn't in that place any longer, and i think that constantly hoping for her comeback causes nothing but dissappointment when she fails to sell 1 million with her new single or whatever. people are expecting her new single in june to be huge...but honestly, i expect it will sell just like all the others have recently. and if it does better, thats a pleasant surprise.

Personally I don't think there's any comeback. She's always on top. She's always selling pretty well. I am not expecting this single to sell a lot but it will sell well. I do believe Ayu has arrived at a point where she can't rise any further. She's on top, she's done it all, broke many records and now she's just releasing music which she enjoys.

Maybe a comeback to last year's 300k singles, but not more than that, IMO.

one of the things that we like to overlook, but never forget is the fact that...

ayu is almost 30 years old.

the older you get, the harder you have to work over the fresh, young, and bold new faces that pop out each day. surely ayu will still be a legend, but it is unfortunate to say that all legends must die.

don't get me wrong; i absolutely love ayumi and have no thoughts of her dying out any time soon. that woman is a machine!

a comeback for ayu? i don't think there's any need for coming-back! it's a dog-eat-dog world, especially in the media and most ESPECIALLY in japan, and i'm sure ayu can take care of herself. like another person said, she is still the face of japan and is still number one.

there is no comeback. we hear this about every single release. people will either like the release and buy it like crazy, or they won't.

ayu's already at the top, there's no comeback, there's no where else to go, lol. people keep talking about her making a comeback, and she's going to start going down for reals.

Ayu is still in "that place", definately. Atleast that's how I felt it was like when I was in Tokyo for two weeks, came back 5 days ago. Her album is still the highest selling ones, her singles top the charts for weeks, numbers doesn't have anything to do with it. As I said in an earlier post, buying a CD today is not the same thing as it was a few years ago, artists will have a very hard time to ever get those, insanely high, sale numbers again. To this you can also add piracy. Well, Ayu was "it" back then, she is still in a position that no-one else has been able to reach in Japan. I doubt that, when Ayu is gone, someone will make it to this position again, in a very long time. My guess is that she will always be remembered as the number one, untill someone manage to overtake that place in history.
