Old Songs and Old Albums...Now?

Hey guys, just wondering.

I think they may have been past threads like this? But I didnt really come across them in the recent months, so here goes.

With Love songs being released just around the corner, all the new songs are getting so much hype. Of course, some songs may sound weird now. But have you actually felt this sense of strangeness with Ayu's songs in the past? I refer to the feeling that when you receive a new track to listen, you feel that it's not very appealing during that period. However, now, you;ve grown to accept that song?

So what are those songs? Or has that same song not grown on you at all?

For me, I begun my Ayu journey with MY STORY. I adored the songs with PVs but the rest, well not so much even though I thought HOPE or PAIN was such a gorgeous track. I honestly found Liar and HAPPY ENDING very weird in how their melody goes but 4-5 years now, these are tracks with that Ayu-feeling in them and definitely grown on me much much more now.

There have been songs, which I didn't like at first listen, but later grew to appreciate, such as Sweet Season, You were..., Over, but there are also songs, which I loved at the beginning, but not so much anymore.

For me the song I really didn't liked at first but now really like is ASFXX. At first i thought it's so boring but now I love it!
One of the song I accepted is SEASONS. I still don't like it but I can listen to it

I never really liked girlish (from DUTY), but recently I've been listening to it A LOT! it's really grown on me and I love it

I usually love a song the minute I hear it or no matter how many times I listen to it, I probably still won't like it~

I can't really remember a song that I hated that I now like...X_X

When (miss)understood came out I was like "THESE SONGS ARE ALL SO WERRRD" but I love that album now.

I used to hate almost the whole Rainbow, now i love some songs. I also didnt like her old songs, and now her old albums are epic for me. With recent songs, i fidnt like the talkin 2 myself/decision single....until AT 2008

Yeah. First time I heard it, I thought, "Wtf is this ****?...skip." But I grew to love it, especially because of her vocals.

I don't know any songs off the top of my head that I disliked and now like.

For me, I decide within a few days whether I love or hate the song - I can say that I always liked B&D (or rather, I can't remember disliking it lol)

Bold and Delicious was WEIRD lol

I mean, consider where people in 2006 were coming from. MY STORY was the last album...and it was different enough from her past stuff lol


A lot of her newer works take time to grow on me, because a lot of the melodies are just, so weird, and complicated, and they have a lot of parts, that repeat. They don't really build like her old songs do, but instead, hit you in different places.

I can't say I'm the biggest fan, but I've learned to appreciate them for how different they are from other stuff out there.

I just listened to MY SONG FOR XX, the album, thoroughly...arghhh...its relly really nice!! I think I'm gonna be hooked onto As if and FRIEND for sometime..

I started with My Story too. I still love that album so much. I also got I Am around that time too. Just the feeling the album (My Story) gave me made me love it. And because Inspire and Game were the first songs I heard. I gotta learn to love A Song For xx and Loveppears more but I think its just a case of getting to know that Ayu from that period. Still dont like the Lady Dynamite pv :s

At first i hated all of the Rainbow album!!!
I didnt get why people were so hyped about Hanabi ( i became a fan in the summer of 2009, so S/S time) until i actually like listened to the album
and i fell inlove head over heels with the songs, Over, Hanabi, WE Wish, Real ME, Voyage, Independent, Heartplace are some of my favorite songs, Hanabi is one of my all time favorite songs.

I used to not like criminal, In The Corner, Heartplace, fated, untitled ~for her~, still alone, rollin', Curtain call, Life, and Secret. but honestly now I can say most of these songs I love and are some of my favorites.

I remember how much I dislike GUILTY when it was released lol.
But after some listens, I've started to appreciated it a little more than before. It's still my least favourite album from Ayu (and I still think it's her most rushed and incomplete work), but I don't think it's that bad as before anymore .
Even with Marionette. I never get why most of people love it so much here I always thought was a nice song but nothing special, then I understand. I never listen to that song carefully because it's a really amazing song.

I didn't like Bold & Delicious and Startin' when I first heard them but now I love them very much. Their lyrics as well. And the latest example is You were.... I really disliked the chaku uta as well as the whole thing when I first listened to it. But some months later I was toally loving it!

I hated everything i Secret before, now they sound acceptable. don't ask me why, maybe it's time. but i still hate most the things in next lvl.

A Song for xx, Secret and NEXT LEVEL are the three albums I have hated very much. Now I really love the two latter ones. I have a neutral feelings towards ASFXX now; I don't really love it or hate it... it's just ASFXX. And Secret has one of the best intros I've ever heard, and NEXT LEVEL has Sparkle which is the best song on that album by far.
