Songs that sound better live?
What songs do you think sound better live as opposed to the studio track?
Not sure if I can think of any that sound superior live...there's something about most of her studio versions. Maybe Will...never got into the studio track of that. Are there songs where you think the studio version is almost always better than a live? I have a few...the staple songs (evolution, trauma, humming, UNITE!, etc...) I never even watch live...but I enjoy the studio versions. Also is this LOVE? I feel is ruined live because of those horrid backup singers. It completely messes up the beginning and end "whoaaaaaa yeahhhhhh yeahhhh..." parts. smh. Looking forward to what you guys think.

PCDL versions of songs like SIGNAL, POWDER SNOW, Hana are all better than studio tracks
![]() And I found that progress also is much better live than recorded.

The beginning of is this LOVE? is awful with the banshee wailing, but the electric guitars sound so freaking good live in that song.
I guess any of her rock songs sound better live... hm... |

I don't really have a preference for stuff...well, I suppose I love studio stuff so much more because it sounds better if you're listening to an iPod or something, but I find that when I watch the tours or CDL's I like the ballads so much more than I did than listening to it on the CD!

Every single rock song! Rock is one of those genres that almost always sound better live. A thousand times better.

A Song for XX, SEASONS, teddy bear, SURREAL are always better live for me. I don't even listen to the original tracks because her vocals in them give me a headache. I used to think they were just bad songs, but it's really just her vocals in the studio versions.

I find a loooooot of her songs sound better live than in studio. Well, maybe not necessarily "better", but more interesting.
I prefer almost any of her old songs when performed later with updated arrangements/vocals (I honestly cannot listen to WHATEVER unless it's the CDL 04/05 rip... omg, it makes such a huge difference.) Songs that have really awesome extended intros/outros are also really fun to listen to - it's like getting more of a song you already love ![]()

There's one, particular live of Ayu singing A Song For XX that was the first time I saw her sing live. Always got to me. It's been removed from Youtube now though, and I have no idea where it was from...
I've only ever watched one concert, so my opinion other than the one above is moot. I need to watch more ![]() |

I'm with most people here. Her lives are better not completely but for me the live instrumentation is damn good to my ears especially rock songs. Plus the intro/outro and improvisation.
These songs are all I got in mind Boys & Girls (I prefer this live over studio), WHATEVER (CDL 04/05), until that Day... (the explosion just make things better), 1 LOVE, GAME, is this LOVE? (except for the banshee scream), BALLAD, count down, Memorial address, A Song for XX, and The old songs in PCDL |

I don't like slow beginning of studio version of UNITE, it sounds better at concert
songs for audience - evolution and Boys&Girls and final songs - Who, and especially My All A song for XX |
