[news] Concert attendance - Ayu at #9

According to the latest issue of Japanese market research magazine 《 日 經 Entertainment 》, the total number of people attending was calculated for those concerts held this year from January to September in Japan, as well as an anticipated amount for the concerts held in the last quarter of the year. J-pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki's results were not as successful as those of MISIA, and compared with 1st place Arashi, is an even bigger difference.

5-person group Arashi held a total of 38 concerts up until September, with over 470,000 people, winning 1st place. Actually, their concerts not only had day and night times, but even tried 3 shows in a single day. No wonder they accumulated so many people in the audience.

As for KinKi Kids winning 2nd place, even though their members had their separate concerts, their group concert at the end of the year, 9 shows of dome tour, is estimated and expected to have over 460,000 people attending. As for Domoto Koichi, who held his first solo concert tour, had over 334,000 people in 8th place, the only solo male singer on the chart.

In terms of female singers, vocal singer MISIA is the best so far, with 7 shows at a baseball stadium, attracting more than 355,000 people at 5th place, winning Ayumi hamasaki at 9th place, who held 29 nights with only 333,000 people in total.

That sounds like a low number for Ayu... x_x... Hopefully she'll get rid of that hag Peco now...

Anyway you gotta expect all the fangirls to rush and see Arashi and Kinki Kids...

Yay for MISIA!

Doesn't it also have to do with how many venues you have and the size of the audience capacity or whatever

yup, but of course if the artist had the ABILITY (popularity, economic factors) to support more venues and hold the concert at a bigger place with more audience capacity ... i'm sure they would have.

in my opinion, it shows how many people are willing to pull out $$ from their pockets to watch an artist's concert. If the artist wasn't as attractive, their company (or the concert company people) wouldn't add more shows or nights.

Even though Tsuyoshi scares me, I have to admit that his singing skill is much better than Koichi's.

Ayu's shows are getting repetitive anyways. i don't really get that surprised if people are a little tired of them, i mean, she ALWAYS sing Fly high -_-;;;;;;;;; She could be singing PSII, Present or girlish instead.

Thanks for the news!

Bring back the old charm, Ayu-sama! I happen to like the songs you never sing live very much! You can do much better than everyone else on that list!

Well, she doesn't always hold her concerts in a dome, if she did this year, I bet she would've ranked #1!!!!

Well, you got to see it from the economic perspective as well. I mean like since they know they can get it someway or another, cuz Ayu ALWAYS releases her concerts in DVD and VCD, yar, there's the point of people not going as well ...

I mean look ... does Arashi ever release their concert on DVDs? Nah, I don't think so ... that's why. But hehe, her sales are higher than theirs so go Ayumi! She's not loosing out, it's partially due to the venue and that people would rather buy the DVDs than attend her concert cuz yar, the economy's kind of rocky nowadays. So don't FRET! She's sure to beat them with another 50 m wedding dress!

if you think about it, ayu tours nearly every month.. countdown tours, a museum, arena tours, stadium tours...i just lost track of how many tours there are. she is constantly touring and people are tired of the tours. she really should stop for a while
