Talking Concerts You Have Attended~!

I was thinking about this last night....I realise I have been to several concerts so far in my life and all of them are from different genres o_o! Here are the concerts I have attended (with approximate dates and locations):

01) Arturo Sandoval, 1998, Radford, Virginia, USA - I got to meet him after the concert, shook his hand, and he autographed my ticket Also gave me good trumpet advice.

02) Wynton Marsalis, 2003, Boone, North Carolina, USA - Met him, took a picture with him

03) American Idol (second season concert), 2003, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - Went to the concert mainly so I could accompany my sister, haha.

04) Josh Groban, 2004, Washington, DC, USA - I went to the concert with my friend Katherine as a late birthday gift for her. Josh Groban was amazing in concert!

05) Ayumi Hamasaki, 2004, Tokyo, Japan - Great seats! My friend Bradley and I were pretty close to the stage; Ayu was soo close to us at some points! I screamed like a fangirl...

06) Puffy AmiYumi, 2005, Washington, DC, USA - Went with my friend Bradley to the show; a lot of people there were there because of their Cartoon Network show, Go! Go! PuffyAmiYumi (or something)...Bradley and I tried waiting outside afterwards to meet Ami and Yumi but they kind of ran out Wahh. They waved at us though....

Anyway, I'm curious about others' concert experiences. Please do share ^^

Elton John first concert I went to. Awesome.

Numerous Edgefests (festival in Toronto where a ton of bands come to play, including ~ Tool, The Tea Party, Bif Naked, The Mud Men, Robin Black, Billy Talent, Jackalope, Story of the Year, Alexis on Fire, Rise Against and a lot more that I can't remember)

Bonnie Pink in Toronto! BEST CONCERT EXPERIENCE EVER. Also performing that night was Anne Heaton and some other girl whose name I don't remember......

The Chieftans last St.Patrick's Day. ^_^

well I've only been to one festival no single concert though ^^

hmm there were so many good bands and 3 stages so of course I couldnt watch all and it got worst on the last evening when I caught a cold

anyway:
Green Day: they were awesome. the best part was when they chose random ppl of the audience and instructed them what to do i.e. one had to play the drums, one the bass and the last one the guitar of course. and that wanker even got to keep the guitar afterwards

Dir en grey: well they only played for about half an hour and I only caught about half of it, but it was still great (looking forward for their reappearance this year on the centerstage )

Incubus: great of course

Billy Idol: what do you expect? twas so much fun good old classics

R.E.M.:

Simple Plan: not really my taste

Iron Maiden: that was an ... intense ... experience

The Hives: great band, but I couldnt really enjoy it because of some stupid ***** ^^" (sry) that simply could not understand there are ppl enjoying music without having to pogo

HIM: was ok

Velvet Revolver: think I saw them, not too sure though

I think that I went to few when I was young, but here's what I remember:

Summer 2001 - 107.9 The End's End Fest. A*Teens, ATC, BBMak, 3LW, Uncle Kracker, Vertical Herizon, Dream, Smashmouth

1st American Idol Tour

2004 (I think) - Paul McCartney: Back in the USA Tour

Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken - Independent Tour

I think I've been to more... I can't remember...

*pouts at Sweer* I wanna go see Diru, too! ;_;

Anyway---

PUFFY AMIYUMI in Los Angeles, CA Last year. My first concert experience @_@ Wish all those people who were there for the Cartoon Network show would just go away. That bugged me to no end since they were sitting there like "whatever" -_-;

Avenged Sevenfold with the opening band of Opiate for the Masses. I really liked the show but didn't particularly care for the opening bands that played -_-; I left there just... amazed that I had made it decently through a rock show. I made sure to stay a far enough away from the mosh pit!

----
[2007 edit]

Blane Indie band from Washington, I believe. Saw them on a date- not too bad! Love their "My Town" LP!

Dir en grey [Showcase Tour 2006] Saw them at the Wiltern LG in Los Angeles. Best night of my life, dude :0000

Dir en grey [Family Values Tour 2006] San Bernardino. So so so so so so so hot, but I got to shake hands with Shinya and Kaoru after the show ^u^ Plus I got to meet Yoshiki and get a picture with him!!!

Dir en grey [Inward Scream 2007] Saw them at two locations, Los Angeles and Hollywood. The first night was pretty freakin' awesome, the 2nd night pwned all; I got a slice of Shinya's birthday cake + got to see the band when they went to their tour bus only 6 feet away ^____^

I've seen a few local bands, not many huge ones. Smile Empty Soul, Some band that is named after a gun [and the lead singer is a jesus freak and ruined the whole concert]. There was this one band that was really good and when I went to talk to the lead singer he got angry at me and talked to the 14 year old girls :[ so I decided not to ever meet band members again. My favorite cencert was this one were a guy cut open his chest on stage with a broken bottle : D and this girl in the mosh pit caught me before I fell, and she was huge, and she like caught me by my butt! It was amazing and I didnt get trampled to death.

I've been to, only to rock concerts though

The refreshments
Allanis Morrisette
Natalie Merchant
311
Blink 182
Foo Fighters
Summer Sanatarian 2003: Mudvayne, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and METTALICA Me and my mom went for her birthday, it was like an all day concert.
Aerosmith
Cheaptrick

thats all i can think of now...MY dad's been to a TON though, and well, my parents are kind of rockers, so we always went to concerts.

My dad went to concert once back when No Doubt was still really unknown, we have pictures, he said THEY had to pay to perform.

i've also been to some operas, but i don't think those count.
