[A] Your bottom 10 Ayumi songs

I'm sure, as an Ayu fan, you can spit out a top 10 list of your favorite songs without any problem, right? So, now I want you to create a bottom 10 list of your least favorite songs. This should be simple for some and maybe a little bit harder for others. I, for one, don't really dislike any particular Ayu song, but of course, there's going to be songs that are weaker than others.

RULES:

Yes, there are rules. The goal is to pick 10 songs that you believe to be the weakest Ayumi Hamasaki songs. You can choose any Ayumi Hamasaki song, given that it is an original mix*, it's length is over three minutes**, and it is not considered a cover song***. To put things into perspective, there are 135 eligible songs. Your list MUST be in the following format:

128. (3)
129. (4)
130. (5)
131. (6)
132. (7)
133. (8)
134. (9)
135. (10)

After enough time has passed and enough lists are posted, I will post the first round of results. The numbers in parentheses above are the point values each number will receive. Thus, the songs with the highest values at the end are considered the weakest songs among the fans at AHS. Feel free to leave any comments/critiques under each song.

* This means that there are no remixes allowed. You must judge the version of the song that was first released. For instance, Endless sorrow MUST be the original mix, NOT ~gone with the wind ver.~. Daybreak MUST be the album version, NOT "HAL's mix". kanariya MUST be the original mix, too late MUST be the original mix, etc. You can judge EITHER version of immature, since both the single mix and album mix were released on the same date.

** flower garden is an exception to this rule.

*** This means that Sotsugyou shashin and teens are NOT eligible. The GEO of SWEETBOX songs are NOT considered covers because they have original lyrics.

- All hidden tracks / B-sides are allowed as long as they follow the criteria above. Also, all songs must be in the official avex discography.

Any inconsistency in your list will invalidate it entirely. I will not consider your list for the results until you fix the problem.

- I used to love it, but now I find the chorus really hard on the ears. Excellent PV though, of course.

- Bad mixing job, annoying arrangement.

- The epitome of grating vocals.

133. Wishing
134. LOVE ~since 1999~
- TSUNKU's in it.
135. momentum
- imo, the most uninspired and annoying Ayu track. wasn't worth the three days in the recording studio.

132. July 1st: not only is this annoying, I don't like the lyrics and the arrangement is messy and noisy and very tiring to listen to. the acoustic part in the beggining of the song was good, after than I become incapable to stand it.
133. still alone: it's looooong and booooring and looooud and it sounds like ayu is trying to induce slow and painful death using her voice.
134. Over: take still alone, make it even worse, and add some awkward use of useless english.
135. LOVE ~since1999~: wth. Ayu didn't write the lyrics to this song. what is it even doing here? IMO this doesn't belong in her discography, this song doesn't even exist to me. I already dislike it when she records covers, but having this be considered as a song of hers is... weird. and almost insulting. I dunno, I just wish it didn't exist.

I'm surprised you don't like this as it's 1 of my fave songs of her . I love that it sounds really fun even though it's a risk that she undertook .

Why not? I think it's ok as long as it's healthy general discussion but if the threadmaster feels otherwise, then i'll stop commenting. We're all ayu fans here!

I see some teddy bear dislikers. Maybe if i heard the song on it's own for the first time, it would have been draggy as well but the first time i heard/saw it was on AT03~04 with the chinese translation so i understood the context of the song immediately and was like "man, this is sad". It has the feeling of a lied or recitative, so it's like telling a story. And don't you just love the huge fluffy TB that accompanies ayu on stage

Oh, you can still participate if you'd like, but if your list goes against the 'rules' it simply won't be counted.

What's the issue? Just don't use any interludes, covers, or remixes in your list. I don't think it's fair for them to be included and I wanted to make that especially clear in my post.

Wow, so many favorite songs being posted! I was thinking that half LOVEppears and A Song for XX would mostly come up. =) My least 10 favorite from LEAST LIKED TO BEST LIKED.

What IS this? Why did she do this? Oh God, my EARS. TSUNKU sounds like a Turk being grabbed by the balls. The instrumentals are kinda good, though.

Mindless techno crap. At least her other techno songs have soul.

I can't STAND the instrumentals. I never liked the POWDER SNOW composition that much either.

Drags along, and I don't like the vocals. But this song is OK to me. It's not bad at all.

This excludes "Fly high 'HAL'S MIX 2000,'" right? Also, what about "WHATEVER"? What versions are included and excluded?

Yeah, "Fly high" has to be the album version. "WHATEVER".. Oh jeez.

I could only think of a few, not 10.

129. A Song is born - didn't like the collab and listening to it with just Ayu didn't help much actually
130. Teddy Bear - I didn't care for the vocals
131. Greatful Days - I only enjoy this song when watching the PV
132. momentum - I always skip this song, even though I think it's a nice one.
133. Free & Easy - It just sounds odd to me, soft, hard, soft, hard chorus, then soft again... I don't get it xD;
134. NEVER EVER - This one sounds odd to me as well
135. my name's WOMEN - It sounds like it's trying to be another "Real me" but it fails in my opinion. Like Greatful Days, I only like it when I'm watching the PV

Although this song is the most enjoyable on the list, I find it the most boring. I always skip it on the Secret album.
127. In The Corner
Like most people have said, this song is the perfect filler song (and that's bad). I think the only reason it's the second best is because her vocals are tolerable.
128. Liar
I always seem to skip it on the MY STORY album, but I listen to it more than "Humming 7/4" and "HOPE or PAIN." The melody always kind of irked me and it was a forgettable piece. I only like the bell in the beginning.

Too much of a filler for me; I would've much rather preferred "winding road" as the closing song on the album, as it was supposed to be.

I feel that the "part two" wasn't necessary. The original "POWDER SNOW" was (and is) much better; there's more emotion in my opinion.

This song wasn't, at first, this far down the list. This song is way too repetitive for me and the "storyline" never appeals to me.

After really thinking about, I realized how much this song is weak for me. The vocals are bad and the overall message doesn't appeal to me as much as it does in her other songs. Let me rephrase that: I like the message, but I don't like the way this song delivers it.
133. HOPE or PAIN
I really don't care for the melody; I always skip it whenever I listen to MY STORY. It's as if I just don't have time for it.
134. girlish
If I even remember it correctly, I found the melody annoying, no matter how "fun" the sound was supposed to be.
135. Two of us
Very boring; there have been songs with a better delivery of this kind of message, better sound, and better choice of words for lyrics. This is also easy to forget in my opinion.
