Do we know for sure if Oricon will count Ayu's 7th day for her week tho?
Because new releases get 6 days, and ayu getting 7 seems so unfair lol

Since when was Oricon about being fair?

Johnny's groups have legions of fans that sell 5-10 times as much as regular artists in the first week.. it's not that bad for Ayu to release 10 years later on the same day.. :/

From what we've seen in previous singles, she's sold a little more than the indicator suggests.

I'm very interested/angry at the Shuchishin development though. It's kinda like how Kobukuro ended up selling tons for weeks/months after their release.. :|

I just looked up who Shuchishin are...OMG THEY'RE A FREAKING UNIT GROUP WITH ONE RELEASE AND THEY'RE SO CLOSE TO AYU IN THE CHARTS. o____o Sorry for that tiny little outburst, but...dang. Those members must be SUPER DUPER popular if they've gotten #1 everyday but their first day, and their only 7k behind Ayu weekly wise.

Eh, at this point, I have faith Ayu will get the #1 spot. (I'll be upset if she doesn't get it, but #2 is still really high, and especially since their sales are soooooo close.)

It's still weird how little promotion she did for this...and how little it's selling. (Except for the big boost in sales for Saturday.) It's like people are only picking up one copy of the single, not all four. :-/ (Not like they need to, but I've seen a lot of people order 2-4 of the editions...)

They're a group made by a TV show called Quiz Hexagon 2.. and apparently the show is quite popular? O_o

I dunno. No one's really explained their appeal.. so maybe it's just another "3 Dango Brothers" in this age? O_O

No. 1 streak is very important in the Japan music industry. If not, then why would B'z, Mr. Chlidren, KinKi Kids, etc. can maintain their streak for at least 11 years (to 18 years)? Why wouldn't the rival companies tryin' to destroy the streak? I mean, they can just throw B'z vs. KinKi Kids and one of the streak will be broken. I think No. 1 streak is such a valuable thing for a company that it must hold it as long as possible. Last, I would like to point out that ayu is the current female artist that has a long streak (Seiko had the longest one in female category, but that was long time ago).

@ayu_fan: I think the gap must be less than 4550 instead. 5000 is a bit dangerous to me (even tho ayu's factor is always a bit higher..)

Honetly, GUILTY losing #1 was probably a miscalculation on Avex's side. They wanted big first week sales for ayu, well they got them but at the cost of her losing the #1 in her second week. Had they released the album in a normal week, she would had kept that streak.

As for singles, she has 29 #1 singles, and 17 consecutive. 17!!, not 3 not 6 not 10, 17! Whoever thinks that Japan won't care if she loses this #1, is mistaken. I can already see articles being made about this if Mirrocle World doesn't gets the #1, specially since it's her 10th anniversary single, with an extra day, vs a total newb group. (and imo, crappy group)

I don't care if she loses her streak (she will at some point) , but losing it, is going to mean much more than just that.

That is the weird part. You see, they could have probly done something to let her getting no. 1 in the end (during the 2nd week, OR the 3rd week). The sales gap between Kobu and ayu were not a lot (probly 10K - 30K). I agree that they miscalculated in the beginning, but it should be easy to fix that error by boosting up the sales (well, today's MW index showed that they could do it). It'll be a mystery forever that why avex didn't do that in the end...

i just really hope Mirrorcle World does reach the top position. Just because Ayu deserves it for actually putting her soul and heart into her music instead of some stupid game show. In my eyes, she deserves it the most.

i never thought of it that way. but it really would stink if ayu lost her streak to a stupid unit game show group >_< i mean, if she was against an actual artist and lost then it wouldn't be as bad, because they'd be good competition skill wise, but it'd just be sad if she loses to this group (of which i still don't know how to spell their name...hahaha)

This will be sad if ayumi lost both her streaks in such a small time frame.

i saw a HEY!x3 performance of that boyband on youtube. the song's catchy and very weird, but i can't believe that they got so much sales, lol. i think ayu losing to the johnny boybands isn't as bad as losing to a boyband like shuchisin.

anyway, i personally wouldn't be that sad if ayu lost her streak, because it can't last forever. but i still like the single, overall.
