Still I think for this time period when sales for all artists has decreased and when economic is down 600K sales would be great.
However they won't do this.

If there would still be the 1.7 for example, NEXT LEVEL's first week would be 141,653 (x1.7). The sales would be exactly the same in the official total.
I think it's way better without the index because the estimated sales they post are closer to the real sales. ^^
At the weekly sales there wouldn't be any difference in the total official sales.

The sales figures would be exactly the same, if not, the reported number would be lower and we'd just multiply it up to the figure we already have

I think everyone has already said about this

1) little or barely any form of promo done
2) the tour in which it kicked off a month + before the release of the album

& other factors too
