omg I've totally been neglecting this thread lol

@pomegranate: Her voice is so pretty! I must have that first song~ Totally gonna get her stuff.

Let's see...I've discovered mini, Akira Kosemura, Laura Shigihara, and Oumou Sangare

I love them all.

I think most people know mini lol Was waiting for her debut forever.

Akira Kosemura is a minimalist, ambient, showgaze artist who has some fantastic work. I love the vocalist he used for the album "grasslands"...I wrote a very long review of the album on my lastfm lol

Laura Shigihara is a soundtrack composer...most people know her as doing the music for Plants vs. Zombies. I have to say, I've never seen someone with so much musical promise. This girl understands how to compose, to say the least. She's done music for like 15 games, and I think she's only 25. In any case, I am ADDICTED to this little song she wrote for her RPG game called "Melolune".

I can only imagine if someone like Ayu released this song in full. Can you see? It would be EPIC as a jpop song.

Oumou Sangare is an African artist and I learned about her from the movie Kingdom of Heaven. They used one of her songs, and I loved it, and took me forever to find it because it wasnt on the soundtrack...but now I have it! And I love her.

I've always loved nearly all african music I've heard...but I still haven't looked into more artists besides her and femi kuti. There was an african artist at the FIFA concert I really liked too...Oumou will be my starting point!
