they are both such good songs...

In any event, and I think this is pretty clear from ayu's albums too, allthough I'm sure this is changing as well, but songs that would be promoted as "singles" or potentially so could be given a different treatment than other songs as well in production. Again, this is probably all changing with the new formats and such, but there was a formula in western music at least for music that was intended to be played on the radio (most recognisable part of the song / chorus should start within 30 sec of the song, songhas to be between 2m30 and 3m30 etc), kinf of like the eurovision format... In japan obviously it's different... with their 4 minute songs and such..
