Hard to say. The week before, SMAP's singled "Triangle" sold about 100,000 more units in their first week than B&D in its first week at #1. And the Shuji to Akira single sold like 200,000 more units their second week at #1 (in their debut week, they sold over 500,000 units), and they're still going strong at this point (I think their single was less than 1,000 units short of being #1 this week). But male groups are generally dominating the charts nowadays.
