mmm...my japanese is not that good, but doesn't "baka" just mean stupid? stupid is not really considered a swear word anymore, its just rude therefore why does the article call it so? are they just trying to make ayu sound more furious? swearing is very unayu-likely, plus i think shes smarter than that while making a comment, unlike eason =\ (but hk media has a habit to make things sound more complex or worse than what they really are, i think this applies to eason's comment too)

if this article is true, you can't blame ayu being mad, i think the comment is the worst insult an artist could get.

Scold doesn't mean swear. No one said Ayu swore.

Usage of scold:
My mom scolded me for eating the blueberry pie.

Scold just means:
To reprimand or criticize harshly and usually angrily.(http://www.answers.com/scold&r=67) not swear

Yeah bluegie is right. A lot of papers (including the one I scanned int he first post) said she SWORE using 'baka' which is really dumb since baka is a pretty mild term imo. I just didn't want to further exaggerate the article in English, so I didn't use the word 'swore' at all to lighten tensions here.

The sad thing is most normal readers do not bother to analyse the content carefully and realise there's a lot of loops. They get easily swayed by the mere big and colourful headlines.
