Well its nice to see a lot of the people who haven't been satisfied with her recent works loving this PV, but I feel kinda so-so about it, and I rarely complain about her recent work. Theres a lot of hidden meaning to the PV, but the director is terrible and does a poor job of throwing hints to connect the dots, most of it just seems like a bunch of arbitrary scenes that serve no purpose other than artistry, poor artistry too if I may add. Like the birds, I don't think its supposed to symbolize how the performers feel their trapped. It was just another random "OMG LOOK AT THE ART" moments just like the birds in Mirrorcle World.
I really liked the first two minutes then it kinda went downhill from there. The scenery is amazing and I think every yen was worth all the extras and the 1930s/1940s look of shanghai. I actually liked the Ayu walking on the streets scene, except maybe one too many "whoops I almost walked into that person" moments. The fan dancing was good, not as slow and more interesting than other fan dances in the past. I couldn't decide which looked more awful, the white outfit that was worse than AT07's AUDIENCE or ayu's hair. It reminded me of Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria and I was like "HUH? Is Ayu supposed to be a woman pretending to be a guy that cross-dresses as a female?!" The transition into the red dress was great, but I did not like the red dress. If I may dare say so, the red dress makes her look fat. If she asked "does this dress make my butt look big?" I would have said "Yeah....it really does". I'm glad her tango with Midoring was brief, because it was choppy and poorly executed. It has nothing to do with her dancing, I know Ayu is not much of a dancer, but she did a good Pase Doble in AT07 appears I don't know why she couldn't pull that off. Me thinks lack of chemistry. If Midoring was supposed to play a guy and she was supposed to take the lead, I think Ayu's "I was taking a shower and put shampoo on my hair and forgot to wash it out" hair took the lead in the dance more than Midoring. Should have used a male dancer, or if a female was supposed to have some meaning rather than spark up ideas of a homosexual Ayu, then she should have used someone else like Kayannochi or hell even Mika. I have complaints but overall I think it was an okay PV, nothing really memorable though. The one plus side to this PV is we have a higher quality audio version of GREEN before the release. I think most of us had higher expectations because GREEN is such a terrific song. Ayu should have a two-strike rule with working directors. I say two strikes and not three because I don't want this guy again. I look forward to Days PV. Atleast that guy can make some visually stunning scenes (part of Me). No offense but thas the dumbest thing I have ever herd, considering the rumors started since they were on a dinner date for a celebration party of the AT08 tour being over. Their scenes in PVs have been shrugged off because everyone says "its just for show". What makes her scene with Midoring any different?

Hmm this PV is strangely addicting. It has to be the newness.
I just miss the days where PVs weren't one-scene shots for over a minute. fairyland doesn't have -that- many different 'scenes', but because of the variety in shots instead of every scene sorted, it looks very nice. :3 Hey where's Maro in the PV? and to some girls they like the girls and some boys like the boys the name for that kind of person is "homosexual" well talking seriously i don't think this video talk about "gay" i think the director chose girl w/ girl dancing just because looks good, the idea of 2 girls dancing or 2 guys dancing looks very classy and different. i know since glitter/fated the poeple of this forum are very dissatisfied about ayu clips they say: "i can undestand the idea" "the director is bad" "the concept is not clear" "one sequence is too long" bla bla bla don't you think that maybe you are mistaken? do you think ayu would work with a bad director? i really love this video,, but the people is waiting for something too much USA way (effects, edition, concept, tone) don't forget that this video is made for the asian audience. Look at it this way, she's not sitting on a subway singing for five minutes.
As I said before, I liked the PV. I thought the concept and message it was trying to get a cross was relatively clear. Sure, there are some gratuitous eye candy scenes, but that's what sells music. It's all about looking pretty. Sure it could have been better, but everything can be better. We can sit here forever and say what should have been done, but it doesn't change what WAS done

i think A LOT people are asking for too much, and will never end their complaining, but i don't care anymore so i only read a few posts on the firts page and the last one.
i think this PV is really awesome. i ADORE the "first" sceene with those street dragons and stuff. i don't think her walk was bad at all nor was she walking too fast, but her mouth opening was overdone, so i hope she'll keep it down in the Days PV and her future ones. the camera wasn't all that jumpy as some people apply. her hand movements could have been better, but they weren't that bad. next is the male dancers street sceene. i found it, in a way, quite interesting. it reminded me of those old movies and gave me a really good feeling. i noticed them all having black fingernails, and that's something i don't really understand, but i don't mind it at all. and the fact that we couldn't see Subaru's face was kinda intriguing. i keept looking to see his face, but it was never shown ![]() the sceene with the female dancing was really playful, and reminded me of the old Broadway. really well made sceene. now comes the sceene with the fans, and her on stage. i really ADORE the fan choreography. they looked like black/white butterflyes were flying on stage ![]() i really don't see what's so confusing in this sceene. it's really very simple (and i like how the director did it). Ayu is on the stage performing. Midori is in the audience, as her seacret lover. they meet eyes, and the rest of the audience is loving the show. i've noticed that some people don't understand the white/red dress excangeing sceene. it's really simple. it's part of her performance! to stunn the audience (very much alike her recent MW performances), and seeing the PV is located in the 30's it eas quite a magic show to do something like that. this sceene is very Moulin Rouge-like^^ now the ONLY thing i really really really don't understand here is the sceene with the birds in the cages. it's the ONLY thing i would cut out of the PV. maybe it should represent her feelings being traped inside of her, and if that's so, it should have been done in a diferent way. now the performance has ENDED and the bar is closed/empty. Ayu and Midori are the only ones left and they are dancing on the stage is a sing of their passion/love for each other. i really don't see what's so confusig about this sceene ![]() it's areally great sceene, with a lot of passion. it all ends with Ayu getting changed and leaving the bar. she sees her lover taking off in a car representing him/her going on a long trip and her being alone until he returns, notice the lyrics telling us she'll see that person again when winter/fall has ended and everything is GREEN again. overall i really LOVE it, and hope the rest of you can enjoy it without trying to look for mistakes, but simply enjoying what is so great and beautifull in it! |

^ You are right. But of course, there's a difference between a well informed opinion and a first impression. When it comes to pop cultures it's not easy to determine which one is most important though.. |

^ i agree. HEAVEN was a great video, great CG/special effects. AND it wowed you with half transparent people/machinery. GREEN just doesn't do the song ANY justice. junk.

And it's not just about the PVs some are just causually disatisfied with whatever ayu does and want her to recycle songs/PVs from the past (yeah making PVs and songs/lyrics like she used to which means they want her to recycle). And also complain about recyclings. But that's not the point. People are too harsh about the directors, avex wouldn't let ayu use a director that wouldn't make her PVs that wouldn't promote the songs well that's for sure. avex still doesn't let their artists independancy to choose whoever who might crap it. People just became spoiled or just made it a habbit to complain about things casually. Of course we need to see flaws but the only thing that there is here are over the top exaggerations will all honesty. Poor ishii people think that he's the devil or something. And Mirrorcle World had no dancers in it. + ayu's melodramatic (aka acting over-dramatic and divaish) are a part of the story conveying and also the promotional figuring like all PVs should have. Those types of PVs are much better than most other jpop singers PVs those days. At least she's not showing an animated PV (one was enough with Connected), singing in a train or fake crying into a cell phone. Melodrama is better (at least imo). When I look at those PV I say thank you ayu for making "divaish" expressions to give a certain feeling and sometimes fierncess into the dramatic scenes or feeling of the PV instead of the top things being said.
