Green PV Discussion
Now that the full PV is out, let's discuss.
![]() This was actually my first time hearing the whole song. I love the instrumental - the music is beautiful. I can't really tell whether I like Ayu's voice or not though, it sounds too out of breath most of the time. Gorgeous gorgeous music though. As for the PV, it looked very cinematic and the costumes and sets were beautiful. Somehow though the execution of the PV wasn't quite as good as it could have been, the plot/point of a the PV was a little undefined imo (other than the fact that Ayu is a singer in China^_^) It feels like it was so close to being amazing and then just barely fell short. Your thoughts? |

Well, there's the Gomi x Shuya and then the Ayu x Midoring.
I feel as though that's all Kazuyoshi, since he's like.. oi.

I really enjoyed the PV! It felt REALLY Broadway to me, like, I could imagine the PV, especially the stage sections(lol) being done in a Broadway show.
The first interlude between the verse and the prechorus felt longer, and the whole song sounded like it went way up in quality, so that's always a plus. I really hope someone does a good PV rip to replace the LQ leak

Ugh. I hate this guy as a photographer and even more as a director. -____-"
I really like the first two minutes of it (even though Ayu bouncing up and down makes me sooo dizzy). As soon as we get to Ayu on stage though... it completely falls apart. I hate how the PV is like, 2 minutes of Ayu doing one thing, then another 2 minutes of her doing something else, and then another 2 minutes doing something else, and then 2 minutes doing something else... The PV reminds me sooo much of Mirrorcle World. Obviously the plots have nothing in common, but both of them are like, Ayu sits there doing something, changes costumes and does something else for a minute, then she does something else in a new costume, and then she does something else... It's like watching 4 completely different PVs mashed up into one. I also hate the coloring. Like Mirrorcle World, it's all like random and messed up. Parts of it are all blue, then it's all brown, then it's super colorful... I just don't like this guy at all. I wish she would stop using him. :< The PV could have been much, much better if directed by someone else. Oh well, hopefully Days will be better. |

I have the same feeling as Tom Punks and many others. Overall the PV was very breathtaking...especially the beginning part. It felt like watching a movie to be honest. I've seen my share of old Chinese films and movies...the GREEN PV perfectly emulated the setting back then. I can see why it cost so much to put together...all those people too; a whole lot of costumes. The PV felt like it fell apart right when they put her on the stage though. It looked quite elegant with all those dancers but something was definitely missing; the first half of that part of the PV where she's in the white outfit felt too glamorous. The part where she's dancing at the end was kind of awkward as well. These are just my first impressions from viewing the PV once.

It was great, but it remained me of this Chinese drama from a while ago- 情深深,雨濛濛 (Qing Shen Shen, Yu Meng Meng). Maybe because of the 40s feel and the singing at the club. Was it same club, btw? Or do all 1940s Shanghai clubs look the same? O.o

I can't stand Ayu's acting in this PV. Is it just me or is her acting getting worse? She overly moves her mouth to emphasize the fact that she's singing and in the beginning when she's walking through the crowd she is overly touching herself and too quick a pace, it's baaaaad acting. I don't understand why they used a woman in place of a man ether... is Ayu following Katy Perry's "I Kissed a girl" and Beyonce's "If I were a boy" trend or something? Other than that, it was beautiful, Ayu looked gorgeous in the white dress

I really liked the PV.
It looked so 30s China and that's exactly how it was supposed to be! It made me more think about that the song could be about homosexuality. ayu walking on the street gazing in the girls' eyes then we see their shadows going off stage then the colorful dancing with the fancy fans, shuya and gomi dance together and then ayu and midoring then the sad looking ending scene when the car drives the other way and ayu is left alone in the street. Great great PV. |

btw, Ayu's facial expressions at least managed to avoid MW badness here - I was on the edge of my seat for the whole walking through the streets scene though. ![]() btw, does the begining remind anyone else of MW? Where you just hear footsteps and there are some random first person shots of someone walking down an alley? Maybe being a Chinese singer in the 30s is spy Ayu's next identity. haha Last edited by SunshineSlayer; 26th November 2008 at 03:35 AM. |

Okay...so...the PV has definitely made me like this song a LOT more. Before I liked it...but was still unimpressed, the quality kicked in everything I hoped it would, so that's awesome, and I'm hoping it's the same with Days too.
So the thing I absolutely love most is how the song really puts the ambiance of the atmosphere in perfect place. I feel like every little change in tempo, key, even note sets the scene in such a perfect way, and in that respect, I think the song is perfect. The PV however...was disappointing. It was stellar up until Ayu started dancing with Midori. I think it had so much potential and then there was the scene with Ayu and Midori, and the song is over. Very uncool. Maybe they should have used their time better...but honestly, it left me wanting the song to be longer, because I seriously loved every part, the street scenes, the dancing, ayu's singing/dancing, up until the end. I felt everything contributed to the story and the feelings, but then the end just totally sucked... So...for this PV, I think it was good, but not great. Too much into...the atmosphere sadly and not enough in the story I guess...which for me, is something really needed for this type of song and PV. oh...and...why does the camera move so much...omg...was hurting my eyes when she was going through all those people.

I kind of like the feeling in the PV. Its a beautiful set and the dancing with the fans are soooooo pretty!
But othervice I have to agree with Tom Punks. Whats up with this director? Please stop use him! The intro of the PV is very good, it made me so interested of the plot. Then I just see Ayu walk down the crouded street. Just like MW but without the ppl. Gosh, and that was for a along time too. Kind of annoying. Then before the stage scene took place the boys was outside some building and doing some random dancesteps? The stage scene was okay. Too much of the same thing but the dance with the fans was sooo awesome! Then it was random pics backstage on the dancers and Shuya and Gomi takes a little spin. Lol. Then Ayu and Midoring dances for a while. Then we see Ayu sitting in front of the mirror, like longing for someone or something...! Feels kind of out of place. Then she simply walks away on a street with zero ppl on. Wow, so random. And the intro who got me super excited kind of disapeared right when I saw her singing and walking down the street a la MW again. The wonderful plot that I had started to imagine in my head never came. As a matter of a fact, nothing really happend. Ayu just was at these diffrent places and sang? And whats the deal with all the smoking?! Not a good ideal (even if I know that ppl smoked alot during those times but still, it just got me annoyed cuz many young teens are gonna watch this PV). To sum up, amasingly beautiful from times (set and fan dancing) but kind of weird, random and please Ayu I beg you, never use this director again.

I thought this was a pretty nice PV.
I thought it was cute to see her male dancers just practicing outside the theatre. Although I don't get how Ayu's female dancers managed to get to the theatre before her when they were behind her in the beginning, but that's probably just an excuse to give us more scenes of Ayu singing so whatever XD The switch from the red dress back to the white was rather quick and awkward. I really wanted to see more of it and felt like she was about to really start dancing but it was cut off. And I don't think Midori is actually one of dancers. I'm guessing she and Ayu are just sharing a special little moment together and by then, the audience is already empty and it's just the 2 of them in the room. It was a nice PV overall. Reminded me of Mirrorcle World a lot. |

Myeah, the whole walking towards the camera touching her face bit is getting stale. But I really liked the scenery and costumes. Aaaaand I actually did like the dance scene between Ayu & Midoring. Midoring looked pretty hot in that suit!

I love how in the beginning of the video the characters for Ayu's name are in Kanji. But, like many people said, it had great potential, but falls a little short, mostly due to the director.

It was very Mirrorcle World in its execution. It's nice to look at, but I still don't see the plot behind it.
