Catholics, which is actually the religion that prays for saints, don't often pray for Mary magdalene THAt often either. (brazil is the biggest catholic country in the world and I've never sseem anybody here EVER praying to Mary Magdalene to be honest). They often pray a lot for Virgin Mary, which is what ayumi is doing in the beggining of the PV (praying, and then Mary[ayu, on the PV with the wedding dress] appears in her prayers and grant her some light for her contemplative thoughts).
Latin americans pray a lot for Mary, way more than catholics from other continets... Even so, I read some time ago that Saint Anthony is the most popular saint... So... it's hard to say how much people prays to Mary Magnalene, after all, she have the patronage of women...

But I don't think is she either... I only think that the only person that knows for sure which Mary is the song about is Ayu herself =)

The atention payed to each saints depend a lot on where you are =)

^Well, I believe only catholics pray to saints (can't remember any other christian religion that has "saints" but maybe I'm misinformed). Brazil has the largest population of catholics in the world. nobody here prays to Mary Magdalene and it's a fact here. People massively pray for Virgin Mary here, far more than to Saint Anthony. Not sure about the other catholics in the world though.

I know. In Japan, in which the christianity rate is kinda low, MARIA is a short name they often use to refer to Virgin Mary. Several times have I see references in Japanese stuff (non-ayu related) about Virgin Mary and Jesus. Practically never about Mary Magdalene.

I think you're right. I live in Italy, the fatherland of catholicism and here every city, every small town or village, adores a Saint and organizes celebrations dedicated to him. For istance, one of most known italian city in the world, Venice, celebrates Saint Marc.
In the post above the translation of what I found in italian version of wikipedia.

The Orthodox Church prays to saints as well.

I agree, it's the Virgin Mary that Ayu refers too. ^_^
