Memorial address has a deeper meaning than we thought?

Honestly though. It might just be me...but when I first saw the title "Memorial Address" and hear the song with all the "sayonara ne" parts in it. I swear my first thought was that it was about 9/11. I assumed it was another tribute after the cover of her I am... album and a song is born. Pretty stupid right?
Memorial Address = Ground 0 (weird connection right?)

What was your first thoughts about the song?

my first thoughts were: "ayu sounds sad .." then as the song went on i'm like "wow, she sounds angry :O"
i forget who this song is about, but a family member that died i think?

We can only speculate, but I don't think it has that much of a deeper meaning.

IMO, it's one of the few songs in her discography that are directed towards a SPECIFIC person [Curtain call, Who..., Memorial address, MY ALL, etc..]

I always thought this song was about her father as he had passed away around that time and she couldn't complete recordings and that's how memorial Address got to be a mini album and I think the title fits too...

I also read that the numbers on the mirror on the booklet are the date in which her father died, some other people say it's a L33T way to say 0 EGO but I stick to the father idea.

Since the album title is linked to haven't seeing her father, I say that Memorial address (take 2 version) is indeed, dedicated to her father. I quite like how Ayu sang the song because it sometimes sounds like she is singing in a tone of missing him, while at other times she has a strong aggression in her voice. Loooove it <3 and the lyrics too ;-;

I also read that its thought to be for her father, but nothings been confirmed or denied but I think everything that is known about this song and its meaning is that it leads to her father but we could all be way off

Well.. All this about "it's to her father".. It's said about so many songs.. I don't say that it is impossible, but I somehow think that the song is a bit to emotional to be to a person she has never known. She cries more in Memorial address, than songs as HEAVEN and untitled ~for her~.

Leaving memories only to the very end?"

It does really sound like it's a person she was close to. The begginning of the song,

"I remember I went to sleep late that night feeling uneasy
And had a very sad dream
The phone started to ring in the morning, breaking the silence
And the premonition became a reality"

Why should she just that nigh think "Is my dad leaving the world this nigh?"

No offense to anyone, but this is just my thought about it!

^I think those lyrics exactly fit the meaning for her father. The fact that she never knew him, IS emotional.
She and her father probably were close when she was young and after he left, she didn't here from him again.
She's saying that the only thing she can remember about him are just memories from her past, and she never remembered him as a person.
And of course the next stanza could simply be a representation of what she was feeling, in a lyrical way.

I think I like the father meaning, it makes the lyrics very heartbreaking.

But she did know her father. Until he left them when she was 5 years old right...? And if that is so then the lyrics fits very well, she have some distant memories. You know in the documentary light and shadow she speaks very shortly of her father, that he maybe liked to fish and stuff. It makes snece with those little memories since you can remeber some but not to much when you are 5.

However. Im not writing this to prove that ths song is for her father. Im just saying that I think it could be so cuz everything fits with the lyrics and the emotions. But thats just my thinking.

Did you EVER watch untitled ~for her~ CDL0708? She was crying like hell! I never saw her crying in a Memorial Address performance(she might have cried in AT0304, but it wasnt much, its possible she even just forgot her lyrics)

I don't think it's about her father, and I think that considering some fans opinions, her entire discography, from a song for xx to glitter would be about how sad she is because her father left/died/changed gender x________________x

She said more than once that she doesn't really remember him, or his face or his name, and IMO the only song she has that may be about him is Teddy Bear... To me, Memorial Adress sounds more like a love song for someone who died (pretty much like Heaven), but... well, I can be wrong xD

i watched the live performance of it first at AT 03-04, then i heard it on my ipod as i was going to bed, and i just started crying, even the studio recording sounded so emotional

ayu has said in interviews that it was about her father, right? so there shouldn't be deeper meanings.
