which album sold best and where does it rank, exactly?

It was somewhere between 6 and 10, don't remember exactly which position, it's no official chart, I looked up the best-selling remix albums and found out one of ayus belongs into the list, I think it was Ayu-ro-mix with its 650k and Ayu-mi-x II Version Non-Stop Mega Mix is officially the eleventh best selling remix album of all time(it sold less than ayu-ro-mix), so it's definitely top10.

I couldn't find a proper list at first (I only found one list with only the top 7 selling remix albums), but I just saw that "Ayu-mi-x II Version Non-Stop Mega Mix" is the 11th-highest selling remix album in the world. "Super Eurobeat Presents Ayu-ro Mix" is the second highest-selling remix album in Japan (B'z "B'z The "Mixture" is first), but worldwide, I can't find it's place, but somewhere between 8-10.

although theoretically, they'd want to announce it sooner than a few weeks for promotional purposes.

Yeah time-wise it would be "fine" for them to announce it until next week's end, but I really hope it will be this week. Too long already>_>

I wonder if this is a test by Avex... last year, with R/S and NL, there was no television promotion whatsoever (well, one performance), and I don't remember too many magazine shoots. Promotion kicked back up by the time S/S and YW.../B came out, though.

Maybe this year, Avex will announce the date close to it's selling point and see how the sales go that way.

There was a MUSIC STATION performance, a radio appearance, and a handful of magazines.

We have at least the 3/23 issue of ViVi to look forward to, so the album will likely be out around that time... just WHEN!??!

I wouldn't mind waiting until April 7th, but that wouldn't give people enough time to actually hear the album before going to the tour. I know hardcore fans will go to the tour regardless, but will releasing the album so late in the game affect ticket sales?

omg but there's UVERWORLD and BREAKERZ on April 7th as well. not sure about how much of a threat they are, but they seem pretty scary lol

I don't think it would affect ticket sales, unless reviews for the show are absolutely horrible (and I mean devastatingly horrible). Albums always leak early, so if fans desperately wanted to hear it before the show, they might download it. I don't think Ayu fans care too much about listening to the album a whole bunch before the concert - they're probably just excited about seeing Ayu again

UVERworld is just an anime band that's always had average at best sales...... They have steadily been selling a little better each year (they had a best last year that did pretty good, I remember), but they still shouldn't be a threat to anybody like Ayumi (because, even if her sales continue to drop for the next album - of course, they probably will - their patterns show that Ayu will still way out-beat them).
And BREAKERZ, from what I've heard, haven't really hit huge yet. Like, they're known, but they're sales don't seem too significant at all. But then again, I honestly can't find too much information on all their releases...
