Mirrorcle World wasn't really a hit...it only sold well because there were so many bonuses and because it was a 10th Anniversary single. Digitally it didn't perform well.

Days also didn't do better digitally than Together When...and I think Days was only a bigger hit among the fans.

Personally I think a Best would do rather well...
she needs to have maybe 2 new tracks on it to promote it...
Epic tracks of course... lol
But it could have potential if avex does what they are suppose to do!

I don't actually think she needs a break at all. She's been taking things quite slowly the last 2 years or so...even with the tours going on.

As for the best of album I doubt it would do well considering the public simply doesn't like her atm. Even with more promo people would just be pissed off she is everywhere when they simply don't care about her...

Why do you say that the public doesn't like her anymore ?

I know when she was very famous she was everywhere in japan but now it's something like 2 or 3 years that she doesn't have a great exposure ! i don't think she inspire "the disgust"... The time have spent and today solo artists are not so much popular like before but i think she can do well with a best album if avex and Ayu use a good promotion !

Why Namie does well today? She uses the strategy of silent and when she realises something everybody is excited etc...She use the good promotion, look at the painting in Tokyo for bring attention to her ...

I have the feeling that Ayu was just a cash cow for avex and now she is not that big they totaly throw over ! it's sad lol

People don't care about her music, the only thing she has going for her right now is her fans and she seems to lose more and more of those with every release.

Just going by sales, the general public does not care...

I would say she is slowling down since 2006... And I'm glad with it... And I agree with you and ExodusUK, it's not like she is breaking stones with a mallet 20 hours a day, and it's not like she is the only popstar working on this pace... Pretty much all of the bigger ones aren't really known for resting.

But I would like to see her taking a longer time between albums so she could rest her over-saturated image a little... she could work on some side projects or something...
