I'm a new listener to Kana after buying the Love Collection ~Pink~ album. My favourite songs so far are Motto, Sakura I Love You and Kimi ni Aitaku Naru Kara.

Kanas music has really been my jam for the past few weeks, who would've known..atm 25, Distance, Brand New Me, My Place and Alright are on constant repeat. Her music is probably meant for japanese teenage girls, but I don't give a shit
Same! At 29, I don't think I'm her target market but I'm enjoying Love Collection ~Pink~ Her music is just nice and cute to listen to. ( <- Don't really know how to explain lol)

^as you arenew to her her music must be pretty fresh to you.
This is her fifth effort, I still love it as much and I dig song like sayonare very much - tough it would be ignorance to say that she had any artistic growth after to LOVE (which still is her best effort today). She tried out some new genres yes, which were fresh when they came firts (go for it, sakura i love you, distance) but she now has many rehashed tracks (we don't stop, suki etc). I don't mind her having these songs, as they are mostly her signature moves...but she should stop to play safe and become predictable (even her awsome b-sides, which are still mostly better than a.sides and album tracks, slowly become same sounding).
I could see a style shift, or even a concept album...then again, her voice doesn't offer much more that I could imagne her to pull a MIKA NAKASHIMA meets NANA or SUITE CHIC. Maybe I just need my montly breaks to then get a sudden intrest in her form time to time...but she is not on my top 5 list atm anymore. I don't even get excited about a new release...it is just kinda there and I listen to it

Kana doesn't fit any Gangsta, rock or any bad-girl look, she is just so lovely with those checks !!!! <3

to LOVE is definitely her best album so far. I'd say go for that one next.

And it's easy to agree that she is becoming more and more redundant with her sound and concepts. With Love is sweet and lite as you would expect, and despite a little bit of playing with sound (mostly in the production end, not from her own effort) on Darling, I found this album really forgettable. Not only after the fact, but while it was on, I actually had a moment where I forgot it was playing!! o_o
I'll need to listen to it again with more focus, but it just seemed really typical for her. It be great to see her toughen up a little bit (even SAKURA, I love you? had some attitude that she pulled off really well), and maybe play around with that. With some more experimentation in her expression, when she does go back to her 'usual' tracks they're more likely to be appreciated as 'classic kana' rather than 'typical kana'.

Here's hoping that she'll branch out a bit more, and discover a new side of herself to express musically!

^exactly

and while listening to her 26 a-side in a rwo...
wow her voice was so much deeper and charasmatic from Dear onwards.... and it suddenly ends with Esperanza and got more poppier and blander (opposed to her lives where she sounds better nowdays)

I finally had the chance to listen to Kana's album today. Since I didn't listen to her older albums I can't compare it to them but I liked it. After reading your comments I immediately went to listen to Abracadabra which I totally love ^_^ . Also, I totally adore the covers they're the best covers she had since she debuted .

Koi suru kimochi PV
I find it the most boring PV in her career, seriously we are in winter and this is a spring PV. She looks pretty and they experimented with her make up, but this is so boring...and I'm not usually critic with artists but they could have done it a lot better, it has a nice concept...
