The only album people largely say that payed tribute to her past discography was Love again...

The fact (because it is one) that the theory is coming up on almost every release (waaaay before LOVE again) doesn't mean the latter hasn't been the most talked about.

To be honest, I think it's really funny that people actually believe that LOVE again is some kind of tribute. I mean, seriously? Only if she decided to remember all the bad aspects of her career throughout these fifteen years. I'd rather accept that she's not as creative as she used to be, which is totally understandable because nobody can come up with beautiful masterpieces like LOVEppears, Duty, I am..., etc. for the rest of their lives.

I think it's pretty obvious LOVE again is little more than an album of leftovers because she had to put something out for her 15th anniversary lol. Calling it a "tribute" to her past sounds is trying to give credit where it really isn't due.

It doesn't even sound like a mash-up of sounds from earlier in her career... It just sounds like Love songs demos.

I think melodically LOVE again was veeeery ASFXX-esque, especially with all the Yasuhiko Hoshino pieces.

I remember reading somewhere that 'petal' was written around the time of 'Duty'? I don't remember if that was just speculation or not. It sure sounds a lot like SCAR (same composer).

In retrospect, I found the cheap-sounding arrangements a little bit charming. the nail in the coffin for me was really the atrocious mixing...
