I love: Photogenic, Golden Touch, Scream, Stranger, It, Fashionista, Fly

I like: Time Has Come, Birthday, B Who I Want 2 B feat. HATSUNE MIKU (for some strange reason, I usually don't like such songs, but the beat is catchy), Space Invider

I find ok: Every Woman, Anything

I don't care about: What I Did For Love

Same )))
I had the chance to relisten to it this morning and I realised its not bad at all.
Genic is that kind of album that unleashes itself when listened with loud speakers. Most of the songs don.t stand a chance otherwise. Really content with this release even if I don.t like the visual part ( excepting golden touch and anything pvs)

I'm not attacking anyone and never had any intention to; it was simply a misunderstanding blown out of proportion and I apologize for any part I had in this that was perceived as an attack. As I said, I won't continue going into this, so you don't have to worry.

Yaaas Namie is on ha way!!!
I'm the only one who's excited for B who I want 2 B and haven't downloaded the album just to listen to it. I've had thoughts like that but in this way I'm gonna build hype. This album needed hype.

Also I know I love to drag Namie to the pits and everything but I really love how she did something different with B who I want 2 b. It really is polarizing and I love it for that.
Will we ever see Ayuma and Kumi Kehova singing with vocaloid? Probably never tbh. Namie the innovative Kween tbh.

Quick note cause I'm on mobile and a bit lazy to make a proper review, but to me the album lacks some kind of deepness. It is pretty much like Kuu's TRICK: There are some amazing tunes (Photogenic and Golden Touch for me), no terrible songs but the whole thing never seems to take off. I feel like by the end of the year I'll be listening only to four or five songs out of _genic (meanwhile I still listen to most of FEEL like every week) Maybe I'm wrong, but to me the album just feels like this, shallow and unpolished, but not terrible, just not good enough

This. It's a nice album but something is missing in my opinion, couldn't quite put my finger on it though.
But you explained it perfectly.

Gustavopc I think I get what you mean since I almost feel the same. It didn't have the impact of FEEL, when FEEL was out I couldn't stop listening to it, now I mainly want to listen to Be Who I Want 2 Be and from time to time random tracks off _genic.

It lacks soul. I'm sorry for saying it and as a huge Namie fan it hurts myself, but really...it lacks japaneseness and namieness.... QoHP and PLAY were both produced for her...you could hear it without even pinpointing it out. _genic its awsome...but it could be anybodys awsome album if you know what I mean (not anybody but oh well)...
Brighter day and tSUKI both were really really enjoyable songs with a Namie-notch which most songs lack on here...

yet, I finally settled with the fact that an album is just soemthing she has to do to perform it live, so I still have hopes for that

When I listen to the previews I was not amazed and today I listened to the full album and I'm still not impressed lol
I only really like "Fly" ! "scream" & "stranger" are quite enjoyable but already heard...for the rest it's either so so or really not my cup of tea ! In fact I heard a lot of noises in some songs and it's something in the current western music I literally hate ! I don't care if it's well produce or I don't know what but the quality/richness of the arrangement is the priority for me !
I enjoyed nearly all her album since Past Future except some songs but this album is not my thing ...

I was thinking while brushing my teeth earlier on how to raise more awareness on Namie even more like Golden Touch PV did, and I'm thinking why didn't they made a simple touch screen based game just like Dumb Ways To Die, and the game stages are the parts of the PVs like DJing the vinyl or making the clown afro bigger or some sort, all while instrumental version of her cheery songs played as BGM.

If they wanted to give Namie more worldwide awareness then they should have given her a way more catchy song (and preferably in English even though I know PSY's song was in korean). Great catchy song that the US or most of the world would click to and could not stop humming could do the trick, maybe.

Is it only me or the hype for this album is practicaly dead? Or maybe because the album isn.t officially released and people are waiting for hd rips. I remember when FEEL was released everybody went crazy bout it.

Agree with the fact that most song are really americanised but this was always the case with Namie in a form or another. When rnb was huge in the US she did genius 2000 and break the rules (influences from jlo, destiny's child, britney spears etc.) Then hip hop came strong (nelly, p diddy, usher etc.) and she did Style and the hip hop project Suite Chic. When rnb and hip hop started to lose their power into the favour of a more poppish sound, she also adopted a more easy going rnb/pop seen into albums such as Queen of Hip Pop and PLAY. In 2008, the electronic dance pop music started taking over the world and since then Namie went on the same route, with her most generic effort to date Uncontrolled. The only exception is the amazing Past Future which gave us the chance to see Namie experimenting and succeding. Feel and genic are even more westernised than Uncontrolled, also following the trends of the time. Genic has influences from current djs, ariana grande (the throwback sound) etc.

Still, Namie is Namie. And even if people are sayin that she has no attitude, I personally 'feel' her soul into many of her songs. It took me almost one year to get into her music but it was worth it.

I can see I'm going to have to play the feel album to death....even more...this album just isn't doing it for me and at 13 years of listen to her music that has NEVER happened I don't know how I feel about this.honestly a bit peeved.
