Dir En Grey is negotiating to tour with Korn

The ecstatic response has put Dir En Grey in the enviable position of a likely support spot on 33 dates of Korn's summer tour, according to Bob Chiappardi, co-president of Warcon Enterprises (Dir En Grey's American label/distributor), as well as another source close to the band.

The tour deal has yet to be announced. "We're in negotiations about them performing on tour with Korn this summer," says Peter Katsis of the Firm, one of Korn's day-to-day managers. "We saw a performance at the Wiltern and were blown away."

Pretty cool - I'm not a fan of either band, but it'd be awesome if DeG could support a big band like Korn.

I went to the Dir en Grey show in LA and is was a really fun show.

On the Korn tour, they will probably be the first band to play and so they will play during the daytime and I don't know how good that will be. There will be a lot of bands playing so they will probably play for 30 minutes and that will be it. Since tickets are only $10, it might be worth it, even if you only want to see one or two bands.

As previously reported, Korn and The Deftones are heading up the ressurected Family Values Tour, started and headlined by Korn eight years ago. This year's tour is said to have a second stage for the first time, with acts yet to be announced. The main stage will be rounded out by Stone Sour, Flyleaf and Dir En Grey, who Davis described as "this crazy Japanese band that are just out of their minds." Lawn tickets will be $9.99 at each stop.

It looks like it'll run into their tour in Japan though. They have a show in Japan on July 31 and the US tour starts July 27.
