Got back from her Xmas Live show about an hour ago and it was great!

They actually announced a 20 minute intermission before the show started... so, I was left wondering why that was.

BoA came out, and after opening with "The Christmas Song" and covering Yamashita Tatsuro's HIT "Christmas Eve", she announced that the show would be in two parts; Holy Night with BoA and Party Night with BoA.

The first part of the show consisted of ballads, etc and the second half was when she brought out her dancers.

BoA dusted off a few goodies from her digital Xmas album, such as "Rudolph" in English, Japanese, and Korean... she even sang a Jingle Bells in all 3 languages, initialy stumbling on the Korean part.

She opened up the "Party Night with BoA" by giving us a taste of her rendition of "Santa Baby." She really hit the song spot on and gave a pretty rousing performance.

Afterwards, she brought out "Make a Secret" and "Do the Motion" before moving onto a cover of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You." She did a fantastic job with it; it's nice that BoA like to remind of her great singing ability. Her English was great throughout the night, as well... the only part that stood out to me was "Phrase = flays" ... yeah.

Anyhows, BoA brought the cuteness on the mic; she kept telling people not to fall asleep during the first part of the show and would check on us from time to time. Also, she was surprised at how close everyone was to the stage... so, she ended up being really nervous. I guess she likes to talk really slow once she's nervous... so she did exactly that, talked slow.

After she closed the formal part of the show with Jingle Bells... she came back out for the encore and did "Lose Your Mind" ... something else... and wrapped up with "MeriKuri."

Great emceeing from BoA tonight; it was genuine and from the heart... especially since she revealed that she hasn't been enjoying what she does lately, BoA talked about her Christmas memories... Ever since she started working as a singer, she really hadn't built and true Christmas memories... so, these two days of Live concerts have become her "Christmas memory"... and she went on the thank us for that.

Aside from being backed by a band, she was also backed by a strings group... The strings groups was actually named "The Devil's Strings..."

After she introduced them...and the crowd had their fun with the group name, BoA said "Yep... Devils... and, I'm your angel."

She had a tons of cute comments like that throughout the night; she really won the crowd over with her personality tonight.

BoA also managed to fit in rarely performed songs such as "Flower", "With You", "Kimi no Tonari de", "Diamond Heart"... and some song she did during her first live performance ( I couldn't name the song). She even had us sing along during "Kono yo no shirushi".

The line for goods was massive; it extended up 5 flights of stairs around 6pm... They were sold out of the red stocking when I got there.

The perfume smelled great, so I picked it up for my partner in crime... I grabbed a green stocking for my daughter (rabbit) since it's her first Xmas... purple shirt, phone strap... and the tiny ass tumbler.

If you bought at least $30 worth of concert goods and pre-ordered her new album... you were allowed to enter the raffle for a "Grand Prize"

Anyhows, I entered and had my partner, MegaMoki, pick the ball from the box for me... anyhows, we WON!

After the show, we visited the staff, and they gave us this bell from the Xmas tree, which had BoA's autograph and a little heart...

Something extra about the bolded part above:

in a recent interview with the Japanese press, she made confessions that no fan of hers or the press expected to hear: that she "no longer" enjoys working, and that she plans to take a break from her usual routine and pursue her study in America.

She told interviewers that she was feeling "exhausted", which is hardly surprising, considering her incredibly busy schedules in the past seven years, going back and forth between Korea and Japan. However, her emotional problem apparently goes far deeper than that; she confessed that she felt as if "her identity as a human has been lost".

BoA said this is not a recent development. She felt that she had "lost direction" of her life ever since releasing Best of Soul, her best-of compilation that has sold more than a million copies in Japan. Since then she never really had time to reflect on her life and her goals.

Her plan to overcome this slump is to realize her teenage dream, which is to go to a university in America and pursue the studies that she has always wanted to do. She said that she was "certain" that in four years' time she'd be attending a university in the U.S., improving her English and dance skills.

We wish the best for BoA and whatever lies ahead in her career.

That's so sad to hear. I mean, she's, like, 21. Already, she's facing huge problems like that. Maybe this new album will be the last we'll hear from her in a while and she'll pull an OniChi?

She was a star when she was a kid...she hasn't had a chance to do much of what she wants; she's so busy trying to cultivate two cultural identities and do all this work to stay a big-name star that she's probably hating it now. I hope this break will do her some good, and she'll come back revitalized; even if no one else buys her stuff, I still will. =]

i hope she won't stop music all together, but if she needs a break, then i hope she gets the rest.

Break = good. For her at least. You all know how BoA wants to become famous in America, so studying there would be a perfect way to brush up on her English. I just hope that it won't be a case of we won't hear nothing for 3 or 4 years, that'd be sad. She should take a year or 2 off, or release in wide spaces or something. Besides, I've plenty more BoA to discover, like "LOVE & HONESTY" and "VALENTI", not to mention all her Korean stuff except for "Girls on Top". Good luck BoA!

I read this and all I have to say is "Be what your heart want to be my darling". I have to say that I didn't liked her until the release of LOVE LETTER. LOVE LETTER and LOSE YOUR MIND were amazing. About likes, I just like her older stuff and some korean ones.

It's kinda disappointing to see a artist saying that but I totally understand her. I guess the best she can do now is leave the music and live as a "normal" girl for a time. When she get back, she'll do her best coz I know she has potential.

I hope she become famous in America as austin said after the studies and everything she wants to do. I won't be selfish with her, I really want her to releasing singles and stuff but I need to see her happy.

Don't LOSE YOUR MIND for her leaving the career for a time because we'll be rewarded in double with her Smiling Again.

But what'll happen to BoAjjang?!

OMG! I think I have been a bad fan! No, seriously! I never took into consideration as to how BoA's been working and all I wanted her to do is keep releasing constantly great stuff. Selfish me! Oh, I hope she achieves her dream and get some rest. Poor BoA.....

Well it's about time. I've always had the impression that BoA never had a normal life. Her friends were other singers and I don't think she ever dated anyone. Her life is glamorous but she had to pay a price. Artists like Ayu and Kumi had a chance to try things while growing up because they were pretty unknown during their teenage years.

In any way I wonder when she'll eventually leave to study. I'm pretty sure avex and SM won't be happy with this. She still has a Japanese album to release and her Samsung contract so I'm imagining it will take a while before she goes to the US.

BoA's dream-- Studying abroad and debuting in America

"I do not feel as happy doing what I am doing now. To put it more exaggeratedly, I think I might have lost myself, my sense of belonging, in the midst of working."

These words let slipped by BoA, who has been active as a front runner in the entertainment scene, were both shocking and surprising to the people around her. Debuting in 2001 when she was only merely 14 years old, she was still a young girl who held a childish and innocenet look to her. Yet in the years to come, she has successfully released hits like 'Listen to my heart', 'Valenti' and her albums have all managed to break the million sales mark. She has been in the entertainment showbiz for 7 years, and is now 21 years of age. Now, what prompted BoA who has transformed from a young teenager to a mature lady, to say those words?

"It was probably after the release of my compilation album (Best Of Soul), that I began to lose my aim in life. I guess in a way, it was having to work constantly with no breather in between each moment, that made me feel that way. From time to time, I will think back and reflect, whether I am being too contented with what I have now. Honestly, I always wonder what will happen to me if I were to give up singing one day, but because singing has been my life, the thought of it is enough to just jolt me back to my senses that I need to go on with singing. But I guess it is the fact that I hadn't have a break for so long that it is making me burnt out."

As BoA told us these, she secretly threw a glance to her colleagues(manager etc) at the side and gave them a small but bitter smile. Indeed, throughout these 7 years, she has been shuffling back and forth between Japan and Korea without rest in her schedules and has used up 4 passports in the midst of her travelling. Perhaps it's because she is so busy, that she cannot seem to find the motivation to drive her anymore. However, BoA has not lost her dreams all these while. It's a dream made she was 15 years old -- That she wants go abroad to America to study 10 years later, when she is 25 years old.

"There's still 4 more years to when I am 25 years old. Maybe I will really go abroad to study then. I want to study English and also take up ballet, these are what I feel are important and essential to me. Besides, I can still do recordings even when I am studying."

Being an avid and inquisitive learner, BoA has mentioned during her teens years, that she would want to study Economics.

"Ah yes. But come to think of it, I would have been able to put in more time and effort then to study as compared to now."

It's not too late for BoA to study now though.

BoA's ability to express her views and understanding in what she does can be seen in her upcoming single 'Lose Your Mind', which is to be released in December. This is the first time she is collaborating with a rock band member, Doping Panda's Yukata Furukawa and the rock style coupled with BoA's amazing dancing skills just adds more passion to the song itself.

it sounds really fun there...
